Blackwall was not named in the 18th century.

[edit]

Blackwall is said to have got its name from the colour of the embankment wall constructed along the north side of the Thames during the 18th century.[1] It was created circa 17th century, have a look at this map http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/historical/shepherd_1911/shepherd-c-074-075.jpg (right bottom corner) (talkcontribs) 01:10, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
