The top link in external links (Business school directory) goes to a commercial site. How credible is it? Following to link seems to point to a list of mediocre schools. Perhaps a link the AACSB or other accrediting body's search result page would be better? Blink Tag 16:53, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This is a list of paper mills.--Duncan 08:32, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subjective statement

[edit]

In the Business school use of case studies section: "Only a few teachers are able to become truly great case discussion leaders. Jim Erskine at the Ivey School is a prime example of such a teacher." - this seems a little subjective and sycophantic, doesn't it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 40.0.40.10 (talk) 20:23, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's cut it. Actually, case teach is generally at a high standard at most business schools or repute. --Duncan 14:59, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

These questions would be better answered on the pages that discuss the GRE and the TOEFL, since not all business schools use those tests, and most schools that do use them are not business schools. --Duncan 09:45, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You may be correct. Yet, the reason I have placed them here is because students generally think that these tests are relevant. By placing them here, I will like to negate it positively. Sanjiv swarup 17:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GMAT = (Graduate Management Admission Test)

These requirements will vary widely from school to school, and even more from course to course. There will be too many variations to list here. We should list the general case on the relevant course page. For most readers, minumum requements will be of even less interest than averages. of course, the GMAT will be required by most top MBA schools, but of course it will not be required for undergraduate programmes. --Duncan 09:48, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Placement of the mention of a TV serial..

[edit]

I refer to the line .. For the television episode, see Business School (The Office episode). My take is that the line should not appear at the top. Sanjiv swarup 01:15, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LSE

[edit]

The full tite of the LSE is The London School of Economics and Political Science and it was [founded] by The Fabian Society a noted labour/socialist 'think-tank'. Although the LSE has always been concerned with the study of economics its principle concern is with the study of [social science] and so to describe it as a business university is just plain wrong - especially given its not a university but a college of the [University of London]. This is a terrible error to make in an encyclopaedia entry. Rykalski (talk) 19:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Context is important

[edit]

Today the bulk of the B Schools are in India. Even the ones from North America are putting their shops in India. As such the Wiki pages should give meaning for B School from Indian context. In India the B Schools confer PGDM that cannot be a University thing. Same is also true in many other countries. Therefore it is necessary the corrections that I posted find place in the article. B Schools are Placement in India and it is not ethical to hide facts to students. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sailapathi (talkcontribs) 08:02, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nobel Firsts - Correction

[edit]

1949 – The University of Pretoria in South Africa founded the oldest business school in Africa and was the first university to offer an MBA outside of North America.[10] In January 2008 the Graduate School of Management was formally replaced by the Gordon Institute of Business Science.[11]

The first school to offer an MBA degree outside of North America was actually Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi in 1955 [1]

The University of Pretoria actually offered MComm degree (MBA equivalent) in 1949. Later on the degree was changed to MBA.[2]
