Orphaned comment
[edit]I want to know the lineup of the Monterrey team of 1990-1991 or 1991-1992 or 1992-1993 season when they played in the playoffs against Maurer's Puebla and they were defetead because someone shut down the lights at Puebla. What was the starting lineup? Was Hermosillo playing for Monterrey?

Cleanup?
[edit]I think there must be some cleanup in this article. I can do it next weekend. I'm not sure if User:Emblem Blue, or User:Memoroel were the ones adding these sections.
* 2.1 The Rivalry * 2.2 March 24, 1996 * 2.3 Clasico 6-3 * 2.4 DAY 4
Some of them could go as well in Clásico Regiomontano. If someone of the members I mentioned has any problem with this, tell me here ;).

- Cleanup done. I also added a template for the players.--Dreyesbo 17:45, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Your clean up sucks. It's not up to date.
Fair use rationale for Image:CFMtyLogo.png
[edit]Image:CFMtyLogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]THE NEXT LINE : "Rayados' biggest rival is Tigres. This rivalry is called Clásico Regiomontano, the Second most important derby in Mexico" doesnt have a link, and in fact "clasico regiomontano" is the 3rd derby bheind the Clasico Nacional (america vs guadalajara) and Clasico Tapatio (guadalajara vs atlas)

[edit]An image used in this article, File:CF Monterrey Es1.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

Jonathan Gonzaléz
[edit]Gonzalez still "american" until FIFA approves his one-time switch. And thus, he must bear the american flag attached to his name.--SirEdimon (talk) 21:32, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

– The "CF" does not need period next to each letter per other "CF" teams' articles. JE98 (talk) 16:57, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose From what I can see of other Mexican football clubs (e.g. Category:Football clubs in the State of Mexico, Category:Football clubs in Guanajuato), using the dots is standard practice for Mexican club names, including those that start with C.F. There probably needs to be a wider discussion about them, and any decision applied across the board. Separately, personally I find it incredibly unhelpful that Category:Football clubs in Mexico is almost empty. I appreciate the state level categories are useful, but the top level national category really should be non-diffusing, as is the case with many (most?) other countries. - Comment: No strong feeling either way as it is a matter of style (e.g., Seattle Sounders FC vs. Seattle Sounders F.C.; Liverpool F.C. vs. Liverpool FC). My purely non-representative observation seems to be that European clubs written with British English tend to retain the abbreviation periods, whereas those clubs written with American English don't. But in any case, there's usually a redirect in place for the other variant not used in the main page anyway. Seany91 (talk) 17:54, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Comment "C.F." is grammatically incorrect in Spanish.[1] (CC) Tbhotch™ 19:07, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

- Oppose - standard naming convention in Mexico football is to use the dots, as explained by N57. GiantSnowman 20:12, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Wow, is usage all over the place. The club never uses "Club de Fútbol" in abbreviated form in its institutional identity, after scouring their website. The Mexican press and FIFA tend to use CF (another example, another). But some US sources ([2], [3]) use with periods. I'd be tempted to support if not for the fact that this seems to be a larger-level issue in the project. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 07:27, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
