Duplication of text was noted at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2008 October 23 between this article and the IMDB profile, here. Evidence suggests that the IMDb profile, which was contributed by "Anonymous" was copied from us. Compare the article when it was established, here:

This text is all incorporated in the IMDb profile, but it does not include text that was gradually added here and which is also duplicated there. The article's creator added some of the text on the initiation day, here. Note that at this point the article indicates she was in a private school. Here is where that became the current "public school in North Texas".

Another telling moment in the history is this one, where an IP editor added "She was never fmous but was blessed by getting the role of Bailey Pickett in the new Disney Channel Sseries The Suite Life on Deck.(Deni)". She remained so blessed for a while, until this edit, where she was downgraded to merely managing. --Moonriddengirl (talk)

Expatriate

[edit]

Because she settled in Germany for a certain amount of years, she should be listed under "American expatriates in Germany".

No she shouldn't. An expatriate is somebody who is living in a country other than their own. She's not. She is living in the US so she's not an expatriate. --AussieLegend (talk) 02:23, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Debby's Birth name

[edit]

Her birth name, as shown in the Disney channel Spots "You are watching Disney Channel", is Debby Ryan Popp. I think it's becouse she lived in Germany, and there they have two Subnames, like Spain where I live. It's possible that when she returned the U.S. they held her two subnames.(Sorry if my English is not the best)--Pedro00pedro (talk) 16:47, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It still requires a citation from a reliable source. --AussieLegend (talk) 16:54, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but ¿What?, it's difficul to find a more reliable source than Wikipedia, but itself requieres reliable sources too, so it's a vicious circle.--Pedro00pedro (talk) 17:03, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Its true, her birthname was actually Deborah Ann Popp, I have a picture of part of a card her parents sent to her cousin/uncle. Micheal Ray Popp. He was going to be headlining the terrific teen tour with her as part of her background performers untill it was cancelled. I would show the picture as evidence and proof, but I feel it is too personal. XDebby (talk) 16:24, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I need to know if the "Adios" single Debby Ryan was supposed to have released in August was ever released or if it was delayed before I either update or delete the statement (with it being November now). WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 20:40, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Song

[edit]

Debby has recorded a new song called "A Wish Comes True Everyday" for her upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, 16 Wishes. The song was recorded at The Warehouse Studio ini Vancouver, Canada. [1]

Also, there isn't any reference of Debby singing "Hakuna Matata" on the DisneyMania 7 CD that is in stores next week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.118.51.113 (talk) 18:54, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bleach

[edit]

Unless she's doing the dubbing for an animated movie, Warner Bros' plans for a live action film based on the manga Bleach have only just started and there's no evidence she was cast in a film with no script, director, or release date. It should probably be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.194.4.7 (talk) 05:11, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use of shorthand, unsourced opinions

[edit]

Hello, I happened to notice the use of the term "adult demo." I would think that a full "adult demographic" might be more appropriate. In addition, the use of the term "teen idol" is uncited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.68.193 (talk) 22:53, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"to become an au pair for a family of four"

[edit]

She's not an "au pair", she's a nanny.See http://tv.disney.go.com/disneychannel/jessie/gallery/, which states "nanny" explicitly (as does the series itself) and visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Au_pair where it says "An au pair is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working" which excludes the term "au pair", since Jessie is not from a foreign country. --92.224.53.128 (talk) 17:55, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New picture?

[edit]

Yes, I know that the image currently used in the article is only from last May, but does anyone think that one of the newer images in commons:Category:Debby Ryan would be better?

In specific, these two are the newer ones in question:

What does anyone think? - Purplewowies (talk) 20:26, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Current picture more accurately reflects her actual appearance. Others are posed, the second is a copyright violation and can't be used anyway. --Geraldo Perez (talk) 20:58, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeahkay. I had no idea the second was copyvio. I do like the current one more than the first one listed here; I just thought I'd offer it up to see if anyone thought it would be better. I only brought it up because I was wandering around Commons after working on some Suite Life stuff on SimpleWP. - Purplewowies (talk) 02:39, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think, in paragraph "2011–present: Jessie and films" the last sentence:

"Also in 2013 Ryan appeared in the film Muppets Most Wanted with his friend Bridgit Mendler."

should end: "...with her friend Bridgit Mendler" 80.139.186.58 (talk) 09:32, 13 November 2013 (UTC) 80.139.186.58 (talk) 09:32, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of religion

[edit]

I'm unsure as to why "Ryan is a Christian" is being blanked from the article. In the majority of cases religion is not included in articles, unless it meets the requirements of WP:EGRS. In this case we have a reliable source (her own words in an interview) showing self-identification. Unless an explanation for the blanking of the sentence is provided I'll restore it.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 22:24, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The edit I just rolled back said "encyclopedias don't have religious tests". It wasn't a blanking but an insertion, but... that might be part of the reason. - Purplewowies (talk) 23:47, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And there's also this vandalism by the same user on multiple occasions, so this does appear to be a case of personal opinion as opposed to a genuine concern regarding the material and associated references.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 04:05, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship With Joshua Dun

[edit]

The article makes it seem as if Josh Dun was abusive towards Debby. When reading the source, it is clear that she was in an abusive relationship with a friend, not her boyfriend, and that Josh helped her out of that abusive relationship. This should be changed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aerials92 (talkcontribs) 01:16, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch. I have done what I can to clarify it, although I'm sure someone out there can do better. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 01:36, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the wording somewhat, because it was still confusing. It said, "[S]he stated that she decided to partner with Mary Kay and Love is Respect for their "Don't Look Away" campaign. She described the relationship as not romantic, but that they did have a professional relationship and that it was emotionally manipulative to the point where it got physical." That made it sound like Ryan's collaboration with Mary Kay/Love is Respect became abusive. Sadiemonster (talk) 09:54, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Look at this link: http://www.seventeen.com/life/a29088/debby-ryan-i-didnt-realize-i-was-being-abused/ Same sort of article published by Seventeen. It makes it clear that she was not talking about Josh Dun, he even made her realise that this 'friend' was not normal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.60.19.157 (talk) 09:14, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I reworded it a bit to make it clear that Dun was not the person she was accusing. Geraldo Perez (talk) 14:45, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please change that from 'main role' to 'recurring role' or 'supporting role'?
