Name

[edit]

On the official Arsenal website, he is known by his middle name Emiliano[1], and has been called that on TV (Notably in the 2014 Community Shield). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.145.210.177 (talk) 13:18, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Loads of references: 1:45 El Dibu y una ráfaga le dieron el triunfo al Aston Villa (El Dibu and a flurry gave Aston Villa the victory) Bosley John Bosley (talk) 09:25, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have more than two instances of this nickname being used? Can we prove that it has widespread use and that our readers will benefit from its inclusion? Even if it is worthy of mention, the quote is overkill; a teammate describing Martínez as a "phenomenon" doesn't actually tell us much of any substance. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:14, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Which policy is this "proof needed to satisfy? You removed a referenced fact with the comment Who on Earth calls him 'Dibu'? - this despite those (removed) references actually answering your question. You then removed a referenced fact with the comment Rv inappropriate content - he is a goalkeeper not a porn star. How many times do you intend to move the goalposts before we can remove our head up our arse? Bosley John Bosley (talk) 18:51, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Do we need a policy for excluding content that is, in your own words, "useless"? I was being bold in removing content that hadn't, and still hasn't, been shown to be notable. Mattythewhite (talk) 19:37, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OMG, how incisive of you- but wait: What purpose does removing a referenced fact serve? WP:BOLD: The Wikipedia community encourages users to be bold when updating the encyclopedia.IP and I updated the article, not you. The first line of WP:notable (my emphasis) On Wikipedia, notability is a test used by editors to decide whether a given topic warrants its own article. Controversy

[edit]

Emiliano Martinez celebrated with an obscene gesture after being named the World Cup 2022’s best goalkeeper and received a golden glove as a prize and placing it on his groin. Ekta.adithela (talk) 14:28, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also he keeps mocking Mbappe since Argentina wins, while, he is the first goal keeper who couldnt stop the same player (Mbappe) goaling 4 times in a world cup final.
Feel free to precise this record on Martinez page. A record is a record... 2A01:E0A:22E:4CB0:833:553C:20B3:65A3 (talk) 23:00, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
