Development player inclusion in first team box
[edit]Aware discussion has been ongoing in the edit notes already but thought it might be best to carry it on here. The agreed upon precedent at the moment is that anyone listed in the most recent squad update on the official site (who's record in being up to date is rusty at best), or explicitly mentioned in a press release as having been signed for the first team, is included; any other player not meeting these criteria (i.e. development players) must have made at least three competitive appearances for the first team. Having thought about this, I was thinking a minor amendment may improve this: either three substitute appearances for the first team, or ONE competitive start. A starting place would strongly suggest further involvement in the first team proper; an example is Kevin Dabrowski who started (and was MOM) v Hearts last year but under the current rules wouldn't have been added to the squad until much later in the season.
Given that McClelland may start tomorrow, but under current rules would not be added, thought it would be best to address this now rather than start another edit war. As it's me and two others who likely only care about this, if you're both in agreement I will update the caveat in the squad box code. Let me know what you think. Yeah I don't have a problem with that CoatbridgeChancellor (talk) 12:15, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- The starting point should be the first team squad on the Hibs site, which was updated recently, then adding players when they become part of it (even if Hibs forget to update the page). Those "rules" sound fine - we shouldn't add players who make the odd one-off appearance, like the handful in the last game of last season. As it happens, I think Dabrowski was officially part of the first team squad long before he made that first appearance. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 12:38, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

"The Cabbage" Nickname
[edit]Is the above ever used to refer to Hibs? If so, should it not be "Cabbage and Ribs", the Cockney slang name? Moroever, is the source reliable? This is a Good Article and I'm reluctant to edit it Billsmith60 (talk) 10:51, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
