Alphabetize

[edit]

It would be helpful is someone would take the time to alphabetize in a list the celebrities who live there.32.178.50.188 (talk) 04:50, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Washington

[edit]

I was just about to take this off of my watchlist when I saw that someone had added "Hollywood Hills is similar in name to the affluent suburban community of Hollywood Hill in Woodinville, Washington." Sounds to me like uncited (and uncitable) opinion. I know nothing about Hollywood Hill in Woodinville (and I live only ten miles away). I'm not deleting this, but I would recommend that someone else do so. And, with that, I am removing this from my watchlist. - Jmabel | Talk 04:01, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmabel are you saying that Hollywood Hill and Hollywood Hills sounding similar is just an opinion? 146.200.132.123 (talk) 06:45, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When I wrote that 18 years ago the Hollywood neighborhood of Woodinville was not nearly as well known as it is now, and I could find nothing online about a "Hollywood Hill" in Woodinville. But I see a fair amount online now. - Jmabel | Talk 05:16, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"bound by Crescent Heights Blvd. to the west" — Should that be Laurel Canyon Boulevard?, which goes north from where Crescent Heights Blvd. ends at Sunset Blvd. --83.253.248.109 (talk) 22:38, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The source cited says "Crescent Heights," which we assume to mean Crescent Heights Boulevard. If you have another source, use it, but please, let's not change the asserted facts in this article until we have another good source. Thank you. GeorgeLouis (talk) 15:42, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Laurel Hills, California

[edit]

Community in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles that does not lend itself to its own article. Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Edits) 01:39, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article on Laurel Hills has been nominated for deletion. Discussion is here. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 17:42, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No merger. This is not even a community, so it shouldn't have a listing in

WP. BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 17:27, 6 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of article

[edit]

This article used to reference both the geological area "The Hollywood Hills" and the neighborhood "Hollywood Hills". For some reason, that information was removed from the lead section. If you Google the usage, you can see that it is all over the place, using one term for the other. The LA Times is pretty consistent using "Hollywood Hills" when referring to the neighborhood as an entity.

As it is in this article, "Hollywood Hills" is the name of the neighborhood. It is singular and must be followed by "is". See following sentences in article. You don't say "The Beverly Hills are ..." you say "Beverly Hills is".

You could refer to the general geological area "The Hollywood Hills are composed of granite and sandstone"

Please do not revert to using "are" after the neighborhood. Thank you.  • Bobsd •  (talk) 16:44, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
