Jeff may have been born in Fresno, CA, but he is from Berkeley, CA ... or at least he, and his brother Gene Ransom, went to Berkeley High. They were reasonably famous in the day. Jeff went on to play ball for the San Francisco Giants, and Gene played basketball for the University of California. Regularly made the sports page. Still do on occasion. http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/Former-Bears-Star-Has-A-Life-After-Basketball-2940749.php Swlenz (talk) 00:54, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
