kalakot Village(Near to Lohaghat) This article is about the Village Kalakot of district champawat in Uttarakhand, India. According to histories of Kalakot village in the beginning there were mainly two castes: Rajputs and Shilpkars. Later on Rajputs were living this village and Shilpkars the artistes remain only.

Kalakot is a small village in Barakot Mandal in Champawat District. Kalakot village situated around 05 km from Lohaghat. Barakot, Lohaghat, Champawat, Pati, is the nearby Towns to Kalakot. Kalakot village is close to tourist spots like Abbot Mount, Varansur fort (Vanasur-Ka-Kila), Mayawati Ashram (Advaita Ashrama) , Galchaura mandir, Suin(Pawa), . Its main Village Panchayat is Kalakot Panchayat. In this village also several temple like Barmagusain Devta, Bhumiya Devta, Kaalsan Devta, Bhagwati Maa and in the entrance of village is Bharada Devta.
Population of the Kalakot village is around 166. Major portion of the population are away from the village in the Armed Forces and the Central Government Jobs and others are dependent on farming. Due to uneven geographical condition the major portion of water drains off and there is no source to store the rain water for farming, which has adverse effect on agricultural production. . In the villages women usually cover a long distance for collection of water for drinking and daily activities. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.94.9.160 (talk) 07:56, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To say something in Wikipedia, you have to find it written somewhere. And you have to be able to point to where it is written. signed, Willondon (talk) 14:16, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
