MS or MV

[edit]

I would like to thank the ip editor who changed all the MSs to MVs. But you can't thank an ip, so I urge you to register. A quick 'google count' shows that there are far more entries for MS Oscar Wilde than there are for MV Oscar Wilde. Portal:Oscar Wilde/Selected quote/31 MV is used by the minority, such as the company annual report,[1] official enquiries[2] and the captain[3]. This means that we have to rename, not just this article, but also the material on commons Lugnad (talk) 03:22, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I was mistaken. The policy is that either MS or MV can be used. It is the choice of the editor who wrote the initial article. The text of the article must be in agreement with its title. So the ip editor's edit must be reversed. see [4] Lugnad (talk) 05:44, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but the article title is now definitely incorrect (or at best confusung). I am currently on board the MS Oscar Wilde, travelling up the Rhine and today berthed at Rudesheim (sorry, no diacritics on this tablet). The ship is almost brand new, is owned by SCYLLA AG Basel, and was launched about five months ago. See the company's page at [5]37.209.203.250 (talk) 16:32, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
