Missing information about Malyn Massacre

[edit]

I wonder, that the massacre on July 13 1943 is not described in this article. Thanks to Jarred McBride everyone can get much information about this sad chapter of history via a scientific study with 82 pages:

Contesting The Malyn Massacre: The Legacy Of Inter-Ethnic Violence And The Second World War In Eastern Europe https://carlbeckpapers.pitt.edu/ojs/index.php/cbp/issue/view/181

I put this to my very long todo-whishlist and it would take some time with me. Maybe another one has time to read and extract most important info of this paper. --Martin Mair (talk) 16:00, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Romanized name

[edit]

Why is the page name romanized as Malyn and not Malin? -- Deborahjay (talk) 07:05, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See answer on Puscha-Vodytsia page Chaosdruid (talk) 10:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

for Deborahjay because there is a law of the Ukrainian government. http://zakon2.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/55-2010-п Malin also distorts the name through the Russian language. Malin's pronunciation in Ukrainian and Russian is different. Now, when the USSR is liquidated, the names of the Soviet republics are translated into English directly. Earlier in the times of the USSR, they first distorted the Russian language. Then the distorted Russians were translated into English Bohdan Bondar (talk) 12:24, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seismic Monitoring station (designated PS-45)

[edit]

The monitoring station is located in the village of Vorsivka. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/7755021#map=18/50.70063/29.23031 Since 2005, this is another administrative-territorial unit.Malyn City Council - is the territory of its own city and its surroundings Malyn Raion (or Malyns'kyi Raion (in Google Map) - these are different administrative division unit. This station is very secretive. There is no information anywhere about it. Only in the 1990s in the local newspaper was an article and then general words without detail. I am a resident of the city of Malin from birth. Therefore, take control of the fact that mentioning the station in the article about Malyn is false information or questionable. Bohdan Bondar (talk) 12:43, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
