minor grammar edit
[edit]In the section "Climbing and Recreation" toward the end of the second paragraph it reads "Although strenuous, it is considered non-technical climb that involves some scrambling."
It should be edited to "... it is considered a non-technical climb ..."
(btw is there a way to link directly to sections of the article from the talk page?)
A source from Express.
[edit]I've found this source here made by express (https://www.express.co.uk/news/science/1283943/mt-st-helens-eruption-1980-volcano-will-st-helens-erupt-again-usgs). It says that Mount Saint Helens erupts once every 100-300 years, on average. Maybe we could add this to the article somehow? — Preceding unsigned comment added by The great Jay (talk • contribs) 02:54, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- A better source would be needed for this claim because the Wikipedia consensus is that the Daily Express is an unreliable source - see Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources#Daily_Express. —GeoWriter (talk) 11:24, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Please change the sentence "A massive debris avalanche, triggered by a magnitude 5.1 earthquake caused a lateral eruption..." to "A 5.1 magnitude earthquake caused a lateral eruption, causing a massive debris avalanche..." The original wording is confusing and I had to read it multiple times to understand. Thanks. 73.225.160.91 (talk) 00:59, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- Partly done: Adding the missing comma (assuming that the above is a correct copy of the article text) seems to be a simpler solution RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:05, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Mount St Helens
[edit]How tall is Mount St. Helens? 2603:3010:1101:5E00:EDDE:46DB:4EAC:803A (talk) 14:12, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
clarity edit
[edit]> From December 7, 1989 to January 6, 1990, and from November 5, 1990 to February 14, 1991, the mountain erupted, sometimes huge clouds of ash
the last bit of that sentence, "sometimes huge clouds of ash", is unclear and seems to me in violation of some grammatical rule or something similar. 81.179.132.212 (talk) 12:01, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
[edit]
Mount St. Helens needs to be added to this category. 2600:6C8A:C840:10:80:8265:C7FA:6D06 (talk) 00:19, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
Mt. St. Helen's
[edit]Interesting to see that Mt.St. Helen's has been active at one point through the years. Now in 2023 I am more interested than ever to see what it looks like today and find out if it is still rumbling. 2601:983:C100:9E90:ADAB:47A0:51FD:CBD5 (talk) 07:14, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Incorrect statement about activity
[edit]First sentence of the last paragraph of the first section states "After its 1980 eruption, the volcano experienced continuous volcanic activity until 2008."
Since the volcano was dormant from 1991-2004, roughly 13 years, or more than 1/3 of the time frame stated, that is a factually false statement, with no citation. Dmwilliams1979 (talk) 05:45, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
