Plus and Max plans: Do they still exist?

[edit]

I've noticed for some time now that "Plus" and "Max" are still being put under the Minimum Package column of the Channels list. If you're a current subscriber of SkyCable in Metro Manila, CAMANAVA and Rizal for some time now, you would know that SkyCable no longer advertises/markets the Plus and Max plans, in favor of Plans 280 and 499. (You can check it yourselves on the SkyCable website.) They don't even offer Plus Prepaid anymore; Silver Prepaid is now the minimum prepaid "plan" AFAIK.

I presumed the Plus and Max Plans no longer exist, so I edited the Channels table a few months ago to reflect those changes. But alas, a Wikipedian (I don't know who) changed it back to its original form.

Which begs the question: Is anyone here still subscribed to the Plus and Max Plans to warrant their stay on the Channels list? If not, then please let me edit the table again to include only the 280, 499, etc. plans. --PinoiBIGscientian (talk) 10:44, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recommendation for Article protection due to Channel lineup issue

[edit]

Looks like some people still have issues regarding Wikipedia articles of pay TV providers from developing countries having a Channel lineup table. The 11-8 vote cited by the editor was NOT a pronouncement of consensus, but merely a tally of the vote at the time the tally was made. My main question is: why is SkyCable being singled out? What about those from DirecTV or Sky UK?

This is why I am recommending that the SkyCable article be put under Edit Protection until new updates for this article arrive. If anyone could kindly direct us as to how this recommendation be made, it would be highly appreciated. --PinoiBIGscientian (talk) 03:30, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for this, channel listings are not encyclopedic and follows the process in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of DirecTV channels (2nd nomination). ApprenticeFan work 03:32, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is the definition of "encyclopedic"? A listing is but a format for displaying information. Should we have the channel line-up in paragraph form? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 182.18.208.2 (talk) 16:58, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, just found out about this too, unfortunately. I was about to make a separate article for it, but yeah. --PinoiBIGscientian (talk) 03:45, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't Wikipedia, a reference source? Don't we look at directories (or listings) to REFER to specific information? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.92.135.122 (talk) 07:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Change to digital reception with promise of high definition - not fulfilled!

[edit]

SkyCable which bought over Destiny Cable, then changed the analog reception to digital reception with a digibox, promising that subscribers would receive high definition reception, that has not been fulfilled.

Instead it appears that subscribers must pay another fee to have high definition reception for individual channels.

The change to digital reception has not improved definition quality of reception, but has made it worse than when subscribers were getting analog reception.

I am not happy with the switch to digial reception!

The change to digital reception seems to have been motivated with the desire to make more money.

If SkyCable personnel is reading this input, please explain to subscribers, why with digital reception, the definition is now worse than previously with analog reception - unless subscribers pay extra fee for each individual channel. Pachomius2000 (talk) 04:24, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
