Hello

[edit]

Hello everyone, this is a great all time actor. This person can lure someone into the role so well. Most of his directors said he needed no directing. Now I am wondering if anyone has seen a film called the ninth configuration. The Film came out in 1980 and keach stars as a physciatrist Colonel Hudson Kane. His acting in this movie is absolutley unbeliavable, I cant believe he wasnt nominated for any kind of award. One of the reasons for this is the negative undercurrent of Religion in Hollywood and this movie has religious undercurrents.

Stacy Keach played Frank James(his brother James Keach played Jesse)in The Long Riders, my all time favourite Western. He just *looks* the part, without having to try too hard. Great screen presence. His Frank James was the cool, silent and strong type. Brilliant movie.

Cocaine

[edit]

It seems to me, his having spent 6 months in prison for smuggling cocaine is more than just trivia! 66.57.225.50 16:45, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree, especially since the prison term and the ensuing controversy were responsible for getting the hit Mike Hammer show canceled. I remember there was a LOT of news about this back in the day (and parodies in Mad Magazine- or was it Cracked?) Can't anyone dig up source-able info about this? Six months? That's what it says in the Prison Break bit. Nine months? That's what it says in Personal Life. Reconcile?75.103.6.106 (talk) 19:08, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keach's Film History

[edit]

The first sentence of the "Films" section asserts that Keach's "first film role was as a rookie cop in The New Centurions (1972), . . . ." However, Wikipedia reports elsewhere that Keach was in the 1968 film adaptation of The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heart_Is_a_Lonely_Hunter

Moreover, Keach's IMDB page includes several other, even earlier film credits, as well as several that came after The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter but before The New Centurions.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005078/

The mistake may have been made by someone who relied on the "Selected filmography" section located further down Keach's Wikipedia page -- which does indeed begin (or end) with 1972's The New Centurions -- but who ignored the word "selected."

However the mistake was made, someone who knows more than I do should correct it. The information presently being presented is clearly wrong.

Film History

[edit]

The article misses one of his films, he was in the 1993 John Carpenter movie 'Body Bags'. He starred in the second short story of the movie as Richard Coberts - the story is called 'Hair'. 19:22 08 Aug 2013 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.41.251.246 (talk) 18:22, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Television credits for Stacy Keach

[edit]

Tuesday May 12th, 2015

Hi, noticed that NCIS New Orleans was missing from Mr. Keach's television credits...tho' he is listed as a recurring character on the show's page.

"...Main character: Dwayne Cassius "King" Pride (portrayed by Scott Bakula)...it is revealed that Pride's father, Cassius (Stacy Keach), is incarcerated in the Gretna Correctional Facility..."

Thank you so much for all the hard work! I use Wikipedia almost every day, as I find as I get older, I get more curious.  :)

Planet of life work is not mentioned

[edit]

For some reason there is no mention in this article of his narration of the evolution documentary "planet of life." A seven part documentary from the mid 90s. Episode 1: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2xki33

Arm amputation

[edit]

I don't think the part about his arm being amputated is true. There's no information online to back that up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShawnWray (talkcontribs) 14:46, 1 June 2016 (UTC) The story of his amputation is so obviously wrong, I'm surprised it has been allowed to stay on the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.169.147.84 (talk) 20:31, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
