Picking strings with more than two fingers

[edit]

The article currently says "DiGiorgio is not the only bass player who uses this technique, but he is certainly one of its pioneers." Which is almost certainly nonsense. Many heavy metal bass players in the late 1970s and early 1980s used this technique. Videos exist of Iron Maiden's bass player Steve Harris using this technique as early as 1981 on songs which Iron Maiden are known to have been playing for as many as 4 years. Geezer Butler uses the technique quite clearly on their "Never Say Die" video from 1978. Some of the songs on that video were written in the early 1970s and presumably he used the same technique on the original recording

Unless DiGiorgio perfected this technique when he was 4 years old then he is unlikely to have been a pioneer and so I am removing this line from the article and replacing it with something more fitting.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.153.45.54 (talk) 12:26, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title of article

[edit]

Someone please correct the title of the article. Steve's surname is in fact Di Giorgio. Best, A Sniper (talk) 10:08, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that on his webpage as well. Is there a reason why this hasn't been corrected?Yojimbo1941 (talk) 19:57, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed Di Giorgio's name in the article but the title of the article still needs to be fixed. I'm basing this change on the fact that Di Giorgio's own webpage lists his name as "Di Giorgio" as does his Facebook page. Furthermore, there are several other WP pages for people whose names begin with "Di" that have a space.Yojimbo1941 (talk) 16:53, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
