So did the village reopen at all in 2007? And is there news for the 2008 season? I see that the 2008 Dodge Poetry Festival is advertised as taking place there this September - is this correct? Milkfish (talk) 12:09, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The village was reopened(and is currently reopened) for the dodge poetry festival. [1]http://www.dodgepoetry.org/festival-2008/waterloo-village/

Please note that not all of the village was reopened. Also, do note that most of the buildings(except for one floor of the mill) are closed to the general public. A number of buildings appear rundown as well. Nonetheless, the village provides us with a good look at the past.

Photo layout

[edit]

Thank you Jim Henderson for the "white section" edits. I did some additional tweaking. Hopefully I improved the situation. About a week ago, we had another well-intentioned contributor downsizing the photos, but he forgot to compensate for the downsizing. I moved some of the photos around and tried to get text to wrap around the photos. If it doesn't work on your computer then feel free to further tweak it.Wally From Columbia (NJ) (talk) 17:21, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's still a bit messy, in part because the captions are too big. That's why making the pictures smaller didn't improve the layout as well as it often does. It's not so bad on a low screen resolution setting, but right now I'm using a high res screen and no matter what the font size, it still looks messy, and of course articles need to be adjusted so they look good on different screen settings rather than vice versa. A small trim of captions won't be very difficult but someone who knows the place must figure how to transfer some of the textual information from the captions to the main text. Me, I spent Saturday bicycling from Newark to Chatham and got plenty of pictures but have no plan to visit Waterloo. But it's tempting enough to make me ask, how many miles to the nearest commuter rail station? Jim.henderson (talk) 14:18, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
