- Position on same-sex marriage - majority in all age groups want it illegal with African Americans most extreme at 74% opposed and Hispanic most unsure at 17%. 82% of Republicans want it illegal and 47% of Democrats want it legal. Women and men almost equal at 61% illegal for men and 62% for women. 30% of women want it legal, 12% of men unsure.

- The PPP (Public Policy Polling) poll of September 2011 of 569 Texans made the conclusions in a phone poll that the highest opposition to same-sex unions is from African Americans, Republicans and the over 65 age group. Highest support was almost the same for all 3 offered age groups under 65, the "other" option for race, and Democrat party supporters.
