DJ ESCO

[edit]

"Esco and Boomin they got it on smash".[1] DJ Esco (born December 31,1990 in Atlanta Georgia) is a modern day disk jockey(DJ). He has worked with many artists through his career, but continuos to work along side good friend and fellow label mate Future Hendrixs. The two have created multiple mixtape's together, and DJ Esco is commenly seen on Futures albums.[2]

DJ Esco along with Future are the faces of the Freebanz music label.[3] He also is often seen working with Metro Boomin, a young record producer out of St. Louis, Missouri. DJ Esco proclaims himself as "the coolest DJ in the world" on many of his songs, most famously on a track titled "March Madness" with vocals provided from Future.[4]

Mixtapes

[edit]

DJ Esco is mostly known from his mixtape's. One mixtape titled "56 Nights" has over 2 million downloads on Datpiff.com.[5] "56 Nights", was named after the amount of time Esco was forced to stay in a United Arap Emirates prison for the possession of marijuana. According to DJ Esco, not knowing when he would be released was the scariest part. But once let out, his thankfulness and drive helped him and Future create "56 Nights".[6] During the summer of 2016, DJ Esco dropped another mixtape titled Project E.T. (Ecco Terrestrial), which had a lot more than just Future vocals. The tape featured verses from Drake, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, Juicy J, and more. Project E.T. is DJ Esco's most sold mixtape thus far, with more than 3 million downloads on Datpiff.com.[7]

Rise To Fame

[edit]

Esco started off by making beats in the basement of his house, and has stated that he makes his best music in that same setting. "I took pieces from my youth like learning about people like Dr. Dre, who closes off the room to have his own creative space."[8] DJ Esco's first project was dropped in 2013, and is titled "In Freebanz We Trust". Sense then Esco has released three more mixtape's.
