Hollow Earth Radio is a freeform online streaming radio station[1] based in the Central District of Seattle, WA.

Started in 2007 by co-founders Amber Kai Morgan and Garrett Kelly[2], Hollow Earth set out to play as much unknown and original work as possible[3] . An early focus was on found sound and included reel-to-reel and answering machine recordings[4] . Operating out of a basement in Seattle's Phinney Ridge and an attic in Wallingford, the station moved into a public space in Seattle's Central District in 2010.

Hollow Earth Radio is a 501(c)3 nonprofit[5] . The station is all-volunteer run, and holds a yearly Magma Festival in March to help raise funds. In 2011, a special show entertained riders of the Sound Transit Light Rail[6] with music and performance. Hollow Earth also produced The Seaport Beat, an 8-part audio documentary on various aspects, and history of, the local music scene. Hollow Earth has curated local music showcases at the Northwest Folklife Festival. Hollow Earth also aired content from The Corner: 23rd and Union[7] , an interview and call-in project looking into stories located at a specific location in Seattle's Central District.
