Orphaned non-free media (File:Sazanamilp.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Sazanamilp.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey (talk) 11:29, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sales in Japan

[edit]

Hi Fugreena. I've noticed you have done allot of work including Japanese sales, and was wondering if I could ask you a favor. Is there a way you can find me a source for Mariah Carey's Butterfly's sales in Japan? I mean we have sources for many of her albums, so I would hope you could find one for that album, whether Oricon Weekly or Billboard. Thanks allot!--PeterGriffinTalk 15:51, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fugreena, thanks so much for your detailed response, I really appreciate it. However, the sales are not the ones from Billboard level as I have sowed you before. They are the lower listings, as you provided from that other company or organization. Do you ave access to the other figures, like the ones we didn't include in the "all-time" page. Basically, you gave the sales from the Oricon, I want the ones from Dempa Shimbun/Billboard. Tell me if that's possible to find. Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 17:45, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

I noticed the work you did for the Billy Joel discography. It is excellent! The en.Wikipedia really needs the help of editors like you! I wonder if you might consider working on the Keisuke Kuwata article here? It very much needs help from a person who knows the Japanese language. Or, if you are willing to help on a discography for Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, or some members of The Rolling Stones' solo albums (Mick Taylor, Charlie Watts, [[Bill Wyman), I would feel grateful! Maybe I can help you? I find photos of musicians and upload them as free images to Wikimedia Commons. There is a link on my userpage with the names of more than 800 photos I have placed on articles. I do this mostly for the en.Wikipedia, but I have also added photos to other language versions, including ja.Wikipedia. Please leave a note on my talk page if you are interested! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 15:39, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese research

[edit]

Hi, can you verify for me Japanese chart positions for CeCe Peniston discography. I know about the oricon link of her albums (www.ranking.oricon.co.jp), but I recently noticed there is also another one (www.oricon.co.jp), which I cannot translate using google-translator. Also, do you know if there is any archive also for singles chart positions in Japan, please? Thank you Uzerakount (talk) 19:33, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Bush discography edits

[edit]

Hi. Your edit on the Kate Bush discography article was reverted three times by two different people for being confusing and problematic. The problems were stated in our edit summaries, yet you ignored the problems and reverted your edits back four times, when three times is the maximum number of times one is allowed to do that before being considered engaged in WP:edit warring. Twice you simply left the edit summary empty, and when you did write a summary, it didn't address the issues raised; directing us to an English-Dutch dictionary, or whatever that was, was not only useless but rude. You were asked to respond to our concerns on the Talk page, but you ignored that, too, and simply reverted again and again. I had to go back and figure out the problem with your source and then re-write it so people would know the source is in Dutch; you should have done that yourself. "Arteist" is not a recognized word on an English page, it looked like a typo, and you should have recognized that it would be a problem if left without some explanation. Why did you just leave it for others to figure out and explain in a way that could be understood? When you put in a reference, it needs to be clear. If there are non-English words included in it, you need to state the language issue clearly. Please take these things into consideration next time you add a citation. Thank you.--TEHodson 09:35, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed

[edit]

Hi Fugreena. On the 50 Words for Snow (Kate Bush's new album) article, someone tried to set up a chart position box thingy, and messed up the citations. You have experience doing them, so could you come by and try to sort it out? I can't figure out what they did wrong. Thanks.--TEHodson 21:10, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I need help for I cannot modify the wiki-article List of best-selling music artists. List of best-selling music artists

[edit]

Please refrain from changing RIAJ's certified sales without discussion. I'm the main editor of the List of best-selling music artists and I have spent great deal of time retrieving all certifications for Japan from the following sources 1, 2, 3. Bear in mind that if certain certifications do exist but ARE NOT VERIFIABLE through those aforementioned RIAJ sources, then they CANNOT be included in the total Japanese certified sales of artists. All Japanese certifications MUST come RIAJ. Again, if you have questioned about the Japanese certified sales of any artists, be sure to open up a new discussion thread at Talk:List of best-selling music artists.--Harout72 (talk) 15:22, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

List of best-selling albums

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you've added Platinum (200,000 units) for Santana's Supernatural in this edit. Besides Supernatural being posted as Gold (100,000) on April 2000, where is the Platinum posted?--Harout72 (talk) 15:26, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Santana's Supernatural was certified Gold in February 2000, and gained Platinum status two months later.
As for ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits by ABBA, RIAJ certified-sales is 750,000 units, NOT 600,000.[1] Recording Industry Association of Japan unified the Gold/Platinum criteria in June 2003. It is applied retroactively as for the older releases. I guess that you mistakenly counted the certified-sales for some albums. --Fugreena (talk) 02:11, 21 September 2013(UTC)
Can you point out the page for me which states that RIAJ applies the newer certification-levels to older releases? If you're right, then yes, I need to make a few minor adjustments. A very few certifying bodies practice the applying newer certification-levels to older releases (they are RIAA, SNEP). This Billboard article (see RIAJ at the right bottom), it clearly states The new standards which were introduced in August, apply retroactively to all new releases (Singles, Albums and Visuals), released on or after January 1, 2003. It means that only releases launched on or after January 1, 2003 are affected by the newer certification-levels. In other words, any other release published before that point, isn't affected by that rule, that would include the 1992 ABBA's Gold. --Harout72 (talk) 05:42, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of changing the certification standards, was to avoid confusion caused by the different criteria between the domestic and international products. On the page eight of newsletter published in January 2004, RIAJ explained why the sales thresholds were unified.[2]. Here is the excerpt of announcement.

Billboard article that you cited was published in October 2003. It was only two months after the introduction of renewed standards, and any of the earlier releases had not received the Gold/Platinum awards at the time. In later years, some earlier albums and singles certified Gold or Platinum under the alternative criteria.

For example, on the aforementioned RIAJ report (see the right side of page 14), you'll can find Hikawa Kiyoshi (氷川 きよし)'s 2001 single "Oi Okkake Otojiro" (大井追っかけ音次郎)"[3] was listed as Double-Platinum certified single, for shipments of over 500,000 copies (50万枚以上), NOT 800,000. --Fugreena (talk) 09:23, 21 September 2013(UTC)

Yes I'm aware of the reason why the certification-levels for International and Domestic repertoire were adjusted, the Billboard article I provided above talks about that in the first part of it. As for the Double-Platinum for the Oi chasing Otojiro Hikawa Kiyoshi 2001.02.21 C (google translation), where do you read that it's double Platinum for 500,000 units and not 800,000? Because the statement under the images ※ダブル・プラチナ(50万枚)以上の認定を受けた作品のジャケット写真を紹介します。 (The following works have been certified for 500,000 units or more) doesn't exactly mean 500,000 units, it says more than 500,000 units, that included Love by 中島美 posted under Million-seller albums. I think the Billboard article I provided is very clear, RIAJ's newer levels are for the releases launched on/after January 1, 2003. This a very normal practice by the certifying associations.--Harout72 (talk) 17:17, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Why Hikawa's 2000 debut single "Hakone Hachiri no Hanjiro" received Triple Platinum alongside its follow-up? If it had really shipped over 1,200,000 copies, it would have been Million.

On the RIAJ official site, there is NO clear statement that alternative certification levels are inapplicable to releases pre-2003. Instead, they just reported as follows;
 "現在基準が異なっている邦楽及び洋楽のシングル・アルバムの基準が、下表の通り、統一されます"
That's All. --Fugreena (talk) 19:23, 21 September 2013(UTC)

Note that Hikawa Kiyoshi's single "大井追っかけ音次郎" (released in 2001.02.21) has received its Gold in March 2001 for 200,000 units and the Platinum in May 2001 for 400,000 units. Clearly it was selling at a rate so fast that it must have reached the 500,000 units much sooner than November 2003. So 29 months after it first Platinum-award, the Double-Platinum should represent 800,000 units not 500,000. As for the single "Hakone Hachiri no Hanjiro", why would they list it as 1-million-seller when Triple-Platinum represents 1.2 million units. That's how RIAJ operates, doesn't it? Another example is B'z's album Brotherhood certified Triple-Platinum for 1.2 million units in July 1999.--Harout72 (talk) 10:02, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly, there were a lot of more than Triple Platinum-certified domestic products before the unification of certification levels. (the B'z 1999 album scored sales of 1.39 million copies on the Oricon, easily passing the requirements for RIAJ's Triple or Quadruple Platinum status at the time).[4]
According to the Oricon, Kiyoshi Hikawa's first single (peaking at #11, remaining on the top-100 for 95 weeks) has sold 673,000 units, and its follow-up (reaching #8, remaining the top-300 for 51 weeks) sold 415,000 copies during their chart runs.[5][6] In comparison to retail sales figures estimated by the record chart, it seems more realistic to consider that alternative sales thresholds were applied to those older releases.--Fugreena (talk) 17:42, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bare (Annie Lennox album) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "<>"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited ...Famous Last Words..., you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages The Getaway and Business as Usual (album) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Fleetwood Mac

[edit]

Your edit was a very, very large edit, and I asked you to discuss it (per WP:BRD), not start an edit war. You removed a lot of information with no discussion or explanation. Some parts of your edit are probably fine, but they need to be discussed on the talk page, thanks. Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:34, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Did you confirm "Difference between revisions"? My edit is not a major changes, just the modification and simplification of the graph. Most of the information itself stays the same. Fugreena 00:42, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I did – you halved the size of the article. That is by any measure, a large edit. You removed the archival releases and removed information from the singles table. I don't see a graph on the page. I see you are continuing to edit war - discuss this properly or I will report you. Simple. Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:47, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The version that you reverted is filled with inappropriate information. Most of the chart positions are inconsistent with sources, and certifications are unsourced or wrongly sourced. I just modified the incorrect information and removed excessively-used "style="text-align:center;" and simplified the list. Don't throw false accusations at me persistently. If you still think I was wrong, feel free to report me. Fugreena01:13, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What Drmies said. That's what talk pages are for. Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:16, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and if you read the discussion page on which you have been invited to participate, you'll see that I agree with your removal of the excess formatting. You'll also see what I disagree with. You are not being blamed – the admin blamed all three of us. But when you are asked to discuss, you really have to do it, or the admin will block you. I don't make up the rules. I have not been rude to you, and I resent your comment. I find your continued refusal to discuss on the talk page to be rude. Read the discussion between me and the other guy, and say what you think. When we all agree, we can make the changes. That's consensus. Bretonbanquet (talk) 02:48, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

May 2014

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Fleetwood Mac discography. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Drmies (talk) 01:08, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dreams Come True

[edit]

Hello Fugreena. My name is Ryoga. I have a favor to ask of you. Can you give me the peak position/sales for the Japanese band DREAMS COME TRUE's albums Dreams Come True, Love Goes On and the singles "Anata ni Aitakute" (あなたに会いたくて), "Approach", "Ureshi Hazukashi Asagaeri" (うれしはずかし朝帰り), "Lat.43°N (Forty-three Degrees North Latitude)"? The Oricon website does not have any details on them since they were released before 1990. My friend Bluesatellite suggested that I ask you. Hope it's not too much. Thanks, Ryoga (talk) 05:32, 31 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Single Chart-Book Complete Edition 1968-2005"

[edit]

Hi there, I tried to ping you back in January, but was having some issues with pings at the time, and realize you may not have received it. In any event, an editor requested help finding a work on the resource exchange, and I noticed that you have used the same work in your own edits, and may thus be able to help. If so, it would certainly be appreciated. But no worries if not, of course, and apologies if you did, if fact, already see the request. Replaceable fair use File:INRISC hammond.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:INRISC hammond.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
