Please do not use primary sources for information on BLP's as it is a violation of policy. Darkness Shines (talk) 17:53, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What part of WP:PRIMARY & WP:BLP do you not understand? Darkness Shines (talk) 22:05, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry of misunderstanding WP:PRIMARY as a nonreviewed source, but I refered a SECONDARY source. The Bank has created the report an gave it to the people from the TV magazine. So they have reviewed it by their TV report in the magazine and pubished it. This is not a blog. This is the Broadcast stations website. So we have a 2nd source: created by one and reviewed by others who did research in the case. The researchers have published it. So we meet the WP policies. The WP:BLP is also not affected. Everything can be found in the newspapers. Mollath himself talks to the public to have them know the case and his situation. Simply read the German artice with a translator e.g. google. And if you don't trust, read the references with the translator. The German article is blocked for 2 weeks due WR:WAR. We have some lobbyism or involved editors who do not contribute, but just delete. If everyrhing in Germany were done well, we would not have this article. I am not focusing on a special issue or point of view. I am just collecting the information in the arricle. --Hans Haase (talk) 22:26, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A secondary source is a source that reviews a primary source, not the primary source after the review. A primary source does not become a secondary source by being reviewed, ie., the fact that someone else reviewed a source does not give you the right to make your own judgement of the primary source and add it to wikipedia as a fact with the primary source as citiation. You lack a basic understanding of important concepts. It is completely obvious that you have a point of view on these matters and are adding respective bias to the article. --rtc ([[User

talk:Rtc|talk]]) 00:42, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

We lack the concept that the structure of this concepts follows only one main target. How to avoid to get important informations in the article by using the so called POV rules in a very well used rabulistic manner with a dremendous amount of Chuzpe.--84.159.235.154 (talk) 01:37, 27 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hosting English Wikipedia for a group of Users

[edit]

@Hans Haase:No.I'm taking about the memory limit in MediaWiki for uploading(MAX_UPLOAD_SIZE in MediWiki). Also 'Wikipedia Zero' is an mobile application.I'm really asking about an software used in computer to allow a group of users access the wikipedia in a network.I have asked this question previously at :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Archives/Computing/2014_December_10#Hosting_English_Wikipedia_in_College.

Could you tell me is there any constraint in uploading a 10GB file(after uncompressing 40GB) into MediaWiki. Is there any other software that might be good to host an English Wikipedia for a group of users.I know about XOWA but using it individually might be good but when it comes to a group of users the addon(firefox) it provides doesn't work and the http connection is slow too.JUSTIN JOHNS (talk) 04:33, 17 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have no personal experience with XOWA. I want you to know the projects I heard from. I assume such copy of the WP are made for reading only. Filezilla is able to resume interrupted Downloads and I guess, uploads, too. RAR and 7zip can spilt archived into files of predefined size. The 1st image is the big download. Later, the difference file, called image update can be applied. This is like incremental or differential backup. If the unzipped Dump is in plain text, it might be split up im smaller parts. I'm still looking for and FTP server, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mirroring_Wikimedia_project_XML_dumps --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 10:32, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to say but I have the dump file(10GB) with me.I would like to know if there is any software that can host a Wikipedia on a server and that could be accessed by a group of users(students). Are you confident that you could host Wikipedia using the software MediaWiki without any problem?JUSTIN JOHNS (talk) 04:38, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I see it is getting more detailled. I will try to find a solutition for it. What are your ressources to to host an access the copy? What are the reasons for hosting it? Is the internet access too slow or too expensive? Do some of the users try to vandalize the project to give them an offline copy only? --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 18:40, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're mistaken with the context of what we would like to implement. We would like to have an offline copy of wikipedia since at times of Lab sessions(practicals) there's a chance of people surfing the internet to look the answers for the questions(assigments) provided at the lab session which is restricted according to College rules. That's why our professor suggested an idea of hosting an offline wikipedia through a network(might be through any port) when he found that I was using an offline copy of wikipedia(XOWA).But as I suggested earlier I don't think it's reliable to host wikipedia through XOWA.That's why I would like to know is there any other method to host it?(Answer for do some of the users try to vandalize...........? and Answer for reasons for hosting it?)

Resources to host an copy at present:

  • 10GB wikipedia dump file
  • computer nerwork in college(LAN,internet, ethernet cable etc)

Internet access is not two slow and there's no expense in using the internet.JUSTIN JOHNS (talk) 04:43, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I asked the question in the German project. The answers are: XOWA ist the most recent project. The last WP:DVD is from 2008 and obsolete. Kiwix is in use in Africa at locations without internet access and Wikipedia »on an stick«. A summary is on de:WP:Offline. Use Google Translator to see this in your language. XOWA allows editing the pages. But, the changes will be removed then the newer copy replaces the local project. XOWA oder Kiwix will be your choice. I have to setup another computer. I will have 1 TB of disk space. I will test this to provide a little support. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 19:41, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support.I'll keep on looking for your testing. That surely will give a hand for our project.JUSTIN JOHNS (talk) 05:04, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I got more information about. Searching for a solution guided me to Kiwix, which is a browser for the ZIM (file format). On http://www.openzim.org/wiki/Main_Page are more readers avail. A single download of Kiwix software only is a tar.bz file, for Windows there's an installer or may be a zip file. When starting a executable program in the unzipped archive, Kiwix creates a hidden folder "www.kiwix.org" in the "Application data" folder. It may appear when changeing the folder options to display hidden files and run %APPDATA%. Since Win Vista in the "Application data" folder, theres a folder named "Roaming". Here you will find the Kiwix data and settings. I looks very similar to Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. In Windows I will test it. In Linux, in your home folderm there's a hidden folder ".www.kiwix.org" created. inside this, there is a folger "kiwix" which contains a random generated profile name. Inside each profile, you should have only one, is a folder "data". It contains a structure of content an index and library. In the settings it should be possible, to move the content to a network share. When done, move the content into the network share. Start Kiwix again. Open all libs to see if they are working. Try to restict the access to the share to read only for readers. Rollout the the kiwix profile into the readers user profiles. It is possible to move downloaded files into this folder when no files are overwritten. Interwiki links will open a new webbrowser window. When downloading Kiwix with Wikipedia, everything should be done. When downloading Kiwix only, I offers you to load ZIMs. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 13:17, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@JUSTIN JOHNS:, is there a reason you use XOWA? --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 11:02, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for replying too late.Regarding XOWA I'm using it because it provides wikipedia offline. But when it come to a group of users they(XOWA) haven't supported yet know. That's why I would like to use a software that the orginal wikipedia site uses which is MediaWiki. But as I have replied earlier I'm not sure how much memory it(MediaWiki) supports to host the offline wikipedia.I would like to know is there any other tool that speeds up the import of Wikipedia dump(10 GB) into the database used.JUSTIN JOHNS (talk) 10:47, 28 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hallo

[edit]

Asmrulz (talk) 11:32, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As a relay completely turns off and has mechanical inertial mass that shifts the delay for oscillating. A transistor, see its meaning as transfer resistor, can be used as a switch but, it is also working analog as a the volume control on Your stereo. This makes the transistor stay in a definend condition like a voltage regulator. Transistors had a long time the problem not to reach the low resistor value of a switch or relay when turned on. But that is history. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 11:44, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sahil shrestha, here is what You can do, but be sure, You are doing it on You own risk. In case of doubt, contact friend wo did so before. I need some detailed information, see below:
  1. The bearing of the CPU fanmotor is opend and my catch humidity and dirt. As a result of a bad lubrication, the fan motor does not operate in full speed. Clean and relubricate the bearing.
  2. Is the CPU installed correctly, clean and with thermal transfer paste?[1] What the video dies not show, is how to remove air form the paste. Another try is this.[2] Just the care, there is no dust or dirt.
  3. The chipset heatsink labeled "GIGABYTE" is passive. The chip below might have a naked silicium wafer. Be careful not the crack it, is ts like .
    1. Check the thermal transfer paste between chip and heatsink. Use hairdryer to heatup for when removing or fixing current seat.
    2. Check constant pressure of the assembly spring.
  4. Level the alloy fins to the CPU heatsink to guide more airflow from the CPU fan into the chipset heatsink.
  5. The sample picure of a mainboard, I uploaded longer time ago, shows a mainboard modell "GA-A75M-DS2" from same manufacturer. As the resolution of Your picture is lower or less visible, please have me the exact modell number of Your mainboard, possible hidden by the additional graphic card, to make me google for further picures. It should begin with prefix "GA-".
  6. Please have me more information about the Power supply. It might be important for reliable system performance. Manufacturer, R-Number, modell and on the seal You find a manufacturing date. No not open! Such PSU contain hazardous voltage from power grid, wven wenn disconnected, the capacitors might remain charged. If the bleedresistors work propperly, within an hour the capactors should have reached an non-hazardous voltage.

Here's required information

[edit]
Mainboard model is 'GIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2' and model of power supply is 'ATX-450W P4 (20+4pin,SATA). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sahil shrestha (talkcontribs) 01:45, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank You, Sahil shrestha, btw. on discussion and project pages, please sign Your messages with --~~~~, also avail by clicking the signature symbol in the mediawiki editor, which is being replaced by the singature, definded in preferences of Your Wikipedia account.
After doing the checklist the section above, get the stepping of Your CPU. Datasheets and http://ark.intel.com let You know the exact CPU operating voltage which is below 2 volts, called core voltage. The I/O-voltage is higher and used for connecting peripheral devices. When the cooling is working fine, fans for CPU and power supply spin easily check the voltages to see if it is the reason of the overheat. I see, the CPU stepdown converter for the CPU core voltage uses semicontucores with rarely cooling and small pins to get the heat out. For this reason, I reccomend to measure the CPU core voltage. Note: Some mainboard support manual change some voltages for crap like overclocking. The installed CPU has a voltage divider installed to preset the voltage controller on the mainboard.
Is it possible to operate the system on its onboard graphic adapter? Some CPUs support, some do not. But the mainboard has the blue connector installed. Remove the graphic card to find, if it causes the problems.
The power supply is not described closer. Maybe it got weak. Also the mainboard[3][4] is rarely filtered. It only uses a small number of capacitors. Power supply and mainboard, also optional vga cards generate low operating voltages. Aging capacitors cause this voltages not to be filtered enough for propper performance. The used capacitors, sometimes rarely avail or expensive in smaller stocks, have a low ESR. This describes the impedance with a low inner parasitary resistor. The differ far from that ones used in broadcast receivers or similar consumer electronic. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 05:46, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm a bit at a loss regarding how what you say has to do with anything. I was asking whether the ripple generated by the motor as part of its normal operation, can be used to infer the angular position. The problem is basically sensing the back-emf. I totally see how a capacitor can help clean up the signal (besides, adding a capacitor is good practice for reasons of protection against radio interference alone), yet I'm still not sure if we're talking about the same thing Asmrulz (talk) 00:18, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm DMacks. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Ga-ga have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 15:34, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DMacks thanks for notifying the revert. The reason for the edit is to give a shot look on a complete match. The video was selected by time and typical view. The second edit was to remove possible advertising. Btw. in the German version the article is requested for deletion, which I do not recommend at all. I just want to have the article to show how it is being performed. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 15:43, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. I would support a video of a full game. The link needs that sort of specific annotation. Although it does seem hard to find WP:RS, I also would not support deletion. DMacks (talk) 04:00, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited OMNI Entertainment System, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cartridge (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

GoogleTrans gadget and Content Translation system

[edit]

Hi there,

You're welcome to use the GoogleTrans gadget with the Content translation system since you responded to my post on wikimedia.

Since you reply to a lot of the posts on the Content Translation talk page I thought I'd mention to you that my idea to have all people use Google translation system with the Content Translation system, that is, to have it built in. People can get a Google Translation API key and upload it to their profile.

At that stage, they will be able to use Google translation services and to pay for it themselves.

The cost of Google translation services for an individual translating 10 to 20 articles a month would be trivial, maybe only 2 dollars a month.

In this way, Wikipedia could offer a for profit service without paying for it.

Google translation is getting better all the time. Their neural net translations are really good for French to English. I think that Wikipedia should integrate their services into Wikipedia in the manner I have proposed above.

Speedy deletion nomination of Yi Sun

[edit]

Hello Hans Haase,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Yi Sun for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

As user Nils Freiheit is in knowledge, to stay away from the page, JD has removed this list of personal conflicting users,[7] while he is himself hosting a similar list.[8] I also ordered to have other administators to judge vandalism addressing me.[9] It is not tolerable or within the guidelines of to project, to abuse a block, you are responsible for, to grand a conflicting user to start an editwar, abusing a block periode. In other social networks such access of a personal name space would be denied. Bucket crusher moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Bucket crusher, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Automatic transmission fluid

[edit]

I dont know much about this, but it seems to me if it isnt a motor oil it isnt an oil at all. Should we make a new category for Automatic transmission fluids?Rathfelder (talk) 14:16, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe we have too less articles for ATFs, but hydraulic fluids or hydraulic fluids, we have more. Problem: even non-hydraulic transmissions, like the push belt CVT and planetary gears use this, but also power steerings use such fluds. Gearbox lubricants are not made for hydraulic use, but the GL5 specification or similar is shear resistant for use on spiral bevel gears also called hypoid gear/drive. --Hans Haase (有问题吗) 18:29, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I can see that this is a translation of the deWP page, but seriously, if you transfer all the content, then you have to transfer the sources as well. Notice

The article Every Day Counts initiative has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails to meet WP:GNG; no suggestion of "significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject"

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
