Hi Kristen,

It's okay and thanks for letting me know. Your article is in the Discussion section, not on the main page. To put it on the main page click on the "political participation" link that you created to get to the classes main page, and then click edit at the top of the page. Copy and paste your essay there and type ==Comparing DYK and Feature Articles== at the top and put Bryanw3 (talk) 22:37, 18 September 2011 (UTC) at the end.[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:17, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kristen,

I'm concerned that you chose a project page rather than an organization with a regular article. If you look in the right hand column of the feminism project page, you'll see a category for "Pages needing attention" including a category for "stub articles." Check through those to see if you can find an organization.Marchantshapiro (talk) 19:56, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just checking in

[edit]

Hi Kristen! My name is Cindy and I am working with Ed this semester to support the Political Participation course. I can be reached either through my talk page, email, or on IRC at #wikipedia-en-classroom. Please feel free to contact either myself or Ed any time you have a question. We are both here to help and look forward to working with you! Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 07:14, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Checking it out

[edit]

Kristen,

I kept checking for your message unsuccessfully. I just found it in the middle of my "Talk" page : ). Unfortunately the link to your article on the course page is incorrect and you don't have a link to it on your personal page. So I can't find your article. Please fix the link and then I can look it over. Marchantshapiro (talk) 17:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ladies Aid Society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Opinion piece. Most of this article is off-topic.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:38, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was a frivolous deletion proposal based on lack of knowledge about the topic. Having off-topic material and an inappropriate tone are not criteria for deletion, as you can see at WP:DEL#REASON. Please don't be discouraged by this, Kristen46. New editors can be expected to have a lot to learn. The Women's History project, in fact, has had ladies' aid societies on our "wanted articles" list for months, so I thank you very much for starting it. I thought of writing this article myself at some point in the future, and there are certainly sufficient scholarly sources for it. Cynwolfe (talk) 13:09, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
