Dear Lades2222,
I opened a move discussion here, because I think that new names for those articles may be appropriate as they now include non-visa travel requirements like vaccination requirements, passport requirements and entry bans as well as biometrics.
I am coming to you, as a respected editor of visa requirements articles, and I would like to have your opionin about it. Do you think this move is appropriate? And, if yes, how should to articles be renamed?
You can answer on the move discussion page.
Thank you in advance,
Thearones (talk) 10:13, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, of course it's good to discuss here.
Mm.. for now.. I won't be making any major changes to Germany and France.
I think I'll just fix small phrases and spacing for the time being.
And thank you for complimenting me. Lades2222 (talk) 11:31, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[Visa requirements map]
I looked at the wording in this section.
I know you put a lot of effort into these areas, but... the map guidance and links are lengthy.
"Map of jurisdictions by visa requirement for French citizens holding ordinary passports and traveling by air."
--> I think it's better to leave out "by air" here.
When including this phrase, we have to add "by land" or "by ship" etc.
If that happens, we might have to re-examine the whole "visa required" section. This is complicated.
It is better to think of visa requirements as a whole, leaving out "by air."
And eTA, esta, e-voa, ease... I don't think there is a need to list the many types one by one.
In fact... ease, esta, eTA, etc. are offshoots of ETA, and e-voa, etc. can actually be classified as e-visa.
Moreover, "tourist card required in advance" is... hmm...!
For everyone's readability, we need to organize only the essentials.
I hope you express it a little more simply. Lades2222 (talk) 14:32, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Lades2222,
I agree with you that the title and legend are too long and complicated. However I think that it is necessary to include somewhere that, for example, the cuban tourist card (which must be obtained prior to arrival) is shown as "visa on arrival" and that some ETAs are shown as "visa not required" and other as "eVisa", standards that the non-specialist reader may not be aware of. I will move all those special cases and exceptions to inline notes in order to lighten to legend while keeping the map accurate. Thearones (talk) 07:20, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's good idea. i agree. Lades2222 (talk) 08:03, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your ideas are so exquisite that they encompass all our intentions.
I salute you for this idea. Lades2222 (talk) 08:15, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Lades2222,
Thank you for your answer. It seems that the consensus currently is not to rename the articles and it most likely makes sense to keep them consistent with all other "Visa requirements" articles. Thearones (talk) 07:08, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update some maps with color in visa requirements article

[edit]

@Lades2222 Hi, I am from Albania and I have seen than you edit some articles about visa requirements and visa policy. I have seen that you last edited Visa requirements for Albanian citizens and I want to ask you can you update Russia in light green and Sudan in light yellow in Visa requirements for Albanian citizens map as Russia requires an eVisa for Albanian citizens while Sudan requires a travel permit which is mentioned in yellow in the visa requirements sections. Today, Sudan was mentioned as "travel permit required" in yellow in Visa requirements countries for Albanian citizens, but I don't know why it was again changed as "visa required". Please make these updates on this map. Thanks Jonipiri (talk) 16:03, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have read your request well. However I can't resolve it.
Russia has designated 55 countries eligible for e-visas, and 'unfortunately' Albania is not included in this list.
https://electronic-visa.kdmid.ru/country_en.html
http://static.government.ru/media/files/c0ZDX0WaURdyvOidgFYSU5oDg61UC7QB.pdf
And in Sudan there is no basis for exemption.
(although I don't trust this) According to information according to IATA:
The information is that a 'visa on arrival' is granted 'if father is from Sudan' or a 'visa (not visa on arrival)' is granted when an application for permission is made to the Sudanese government and it is granted.
Therefore, i express regret that we are unable to resolve your request at the time. Lades2222 (talk) 21:21, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lades2222 Hi again. I have read the articles for Russia which grants eVisa to the specific countries and I was informed at the moment it doesn't grants eVisa for Albanian citizens, however for Sudan, it grants a travel permit since it has listed some specific countries, based on the same religion and culture, to be able to travel to this country for a short period. In this case, Albania must obtain a travel permit to travel to Sudan. (yesterday this option was updated on Visa requirements for Albanian citizens as "travel permit required" but it was again changed to "visa required". You also told that you don't trust that Sudan has no basis for exemption. So please update Sudan in light yellow to this map. Thanks. Jonipiri (talk) 05:06, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of Sudan, we need as much accurate information about it as possible.
That is, please send me a link to information that a Sudanese government agency has created such a list, etc. Thank you. Lades2222 (talk) 05:11, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lades2222 Hi, I didn't found a link to an accurate information from a government website or agency, however I found a link to a website who issues eVisa for Albanian citizens to travel to Sudan: https://mustafa98.co/en/albania-visa-from-sudan/
Note that in this link the content explained there isn't written very much correctly, but it lets know that an eVisa or a travel permit is required for Albanian citizens to travel to Sudan. So please update the country with color in the Visa requirements map and also change to eVisa to the Visa requirements countries. Thanks Jonipiri (talk) 07:14, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is Albania's visa method for Sudanese people to go to Albania.
In other words, this is not a visa for Albanians to go to Sudan. Lades2222 (talk) 08:34, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lades2222 Hi, I found another information that Niger issues eVisa for Albanian citizens as per this article: https://apply.joinsherpa.com/products?destinations=NER&passport=ALB&language=en-US&affiliateId=sherpa so please update at least Niger in light green in Visa requirements map for Albanian citizens for now. Thanks Jonipiri (talk) 18:06, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, This site is not official.
And that site says you need a "visa from the embassy" to go to Niger.
Sorry, but now i can't keep acceding to your demands.
I'll finish the our discussion here.
Thanks. Lades2222 (talk) 20:17, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update Libya in green color in Visa requirements map for Albanian citizens

[edit]

@Lades2222 Hi, since you mentioned that Libya requires an eVisa for Albanian citizens, can you update Libya in green color in Visa requirements map for Albanian citizens? Thanks Jonipiri (talk) 07:22, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, changes to the map will be made after next few days. Thank you. Lades2222 (talk) 07:35, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lades2222 Hi Lades2222! Please can you update Algeria in green or light green in the Visa policy map of New Zealand as per visa requirements for Algerian citizens: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Algerian_citizens , New Zealand is shown in blue on the map which means Algerian citizens need an electronic travel authorization to travel to New Zealand and there is also mentioned New Zealand as "e-Visa" requirement opion for Algerian citizens. Information icon Hi Lades2222! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Visa requirements for Turkish citizens several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Visa requirements for Turkish citizens, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:13, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DreamRimmer I'm editing for testing purposes. Lionel Cristiano? 16:16, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry. My heart is tired because of the random person. Lades2222 (talk) 16:16, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lionel Cristiano, please don't do that; you both have already violated the three-revert rule. However, I am assuming good faith. Please note that being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. If you want to test, please use your sandbox. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:23, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add a Visa policy map of Algeria for the countries which have visa free access and visa on arrival access for Diplomatic and Official passports

[edit]

@Lades2222 Hi Lades2222! I have a proposal. Can you add a Visa policy map of Algeria to the Visa policy of Algeria page, for the countries which have visa free access and visa on arrival access for Diplomatic and Official passports. Thanks Ggrudea96 (talk) 07:08, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, do you mean citizens who can come to Algeria visa-free with diplomatic or official passports?
If so, I understand there is already a map on WIKI's 'Visa_policy_of_Algeria' page. :) Lades2222 (talk) 08:02, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Lades2222 Yes, I saw there's a map on this page. However can you add a map for citizens who hold diplomatic and official passports who travel without visa to Sudan and Yemen. Thanks Ggrudea96 (talk) 08:22, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I don't have any information about Sudan and Yemen yet. I'll plan it when I get enough information. Lades2222 (talk) 08:24, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
First at all.. let's examine your data. I don't know when the actual map will be made. Because I am busy with my daily life.
And.. when adding a map, please note that the map for diplomatic or official passport holders will only include 'visa-free' and will not include visa on arrival. Thanks. Lades2222 (talk) 08:55, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lades2222 Sudan allows visa free access for diplomatic and official passports of these countries:

Diplomatic or official/service/special passports:

  • Algeria
  • China
  • Brazil
  • Congo
  • Ethiopia
  • Iran
  • Namibia
  • Russia (diplomatic only)
  • Turkey
  • Vietnam

And also holders of diplomatic or special passports of the following countries can obtain a visa on arrival valid for 2 months:

  • Benin
  • Burkina Faso
  • Central African Republic
  • Comoros
  • Cote d'Ivoire
  • Djibouti
  • Eritrea
  • Gambia
  • Ghana
  • Guinea
  • Guinea-Bissau
  • Liberia
  • Libya
  • Mali
  • Mauritania
  • Morocco
  • Niger
  • Nigeria
  • São Tomé and Príncipe
  • Senegal
  • Sierra Leone
  • Somalia
  • Togo

Yemen allows visa on arrival access for diplomatic and official passports of these countries:

  • Cuba
  • Czech Republic
  • Djibouti
  • Ethiopia
  • Hungary
  • Lebanon
  • Mauritania
  • Morocco
  • Pakistan
  • Turkey

So please add Visa policy maps for holders of diplomatic and official passports who travel without visa or visa on arrival to Sudan and Yemen.

Visa requirements for Croatian citizens map update

[edit]

@Lades2222 Hi Lades2222, Could you please update Namibia and American Samoa on the map for Visa requirements for Croatian citizens. Thank you. Vuk47 (talk) 14:11, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, i checked it. However, the map is scheduled to change in the next few days. Lades2222 (talk) 14:20, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for uploading the map, but American Samoa should have the "Visa not required" color. This is not an eVisa, it is an electronic authorization called "OK Board", and if arriving by boat, no authorization is needed at all. Thank you.
Could you please tell me how the map is going to change in the next days? thanks. Vuk47 (talk) 17:59, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll think about that later. I don't judge 'ok board' to mean 'visa not required' and even if 'ok board' is green, to change it I would have to change the colors of all the other countries. It's hard for me now. I'll postpone it until later. Lades2222 (talk) 22:00, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why would you need to change the colors of all other countries? All ESTA/ETA countries have the same green color as all "Visa not required" countries. You just have to update American Samoa's color to look like all other ESTA/ETA and Visa not required countries. Vuk47 (talk) 11:57, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If change the color of Samoa, we will have to change the color of Samoa on all maps of countries that can travel to the US without a visa. (Europe, Japan, etc.) Currently, other countries also have the same color as Samoa.
If so, I should take the opportunity and work on them all at once. I cannot afford to accept all individual opinions. I'm sorry, but I hope you don't make too many 'requests' from me. Lades2222 (talk) 12:06, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

i still didn't see Egypt being colored...i will wait for tomorrow then.
Also consider writing that Kazakhstan only give e-visa under strict and special circumstance for us Algerian citizens, not everybody can apply for it like they would do for Qatar or Colombia, you need an invitation for the kazakh side and enter from a specific aéroport, and lastly Australia and NZ should be in normal bleu.
By the way i wanted to add that we can obtain an e visa for Azerbaijan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Azerbaijan

Request reason:

Thank you for punishing me and the other person. I also admit that I made personal attacks out of revenge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lades2222) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bourenane_Chahine), and I have deeply regretted it. I am reflecting. And in our defense, we reverted a number of edits. I acknowledge that all of this violates WIKIPEDIA. I would like to ask if there is a way to unblock it. If that comes true, I will also be reborn as a new person. Lades2222 (talk) 22:36, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

It's hard to believe that your "regret" is sincere given your block evasion with Special:contributions/202.68.233.161. I suggest you wait at least six months (WP:SO) without any more socking before you make another unblock request, at which point we will consider it (waiting six months is not an automatic unblock). Yesterday's IP account usage was used to question the administrator. I will not use IP in the future. Lades2222 (talk) 00:14, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lades2222, Wikipedia is not a lawful authoritarian judiciary, so editing restrictions aren't imposed for "punishment" per se, but to safeguard the Wiki from the continuation of policy violation, and in some cases allowing the involved parties to rejuvenate or rehabilitate and adjust themselves during the blocking period, understanding their mistakes. I wish you a good return. X (talk) 07:07, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A Peace Dove for you!

[edit]

I'm saddened to hear that you (in a tragic twist of fate) have found yourself being struck by the ban hammer. I know that we have had disagreements in the past over visa policy articles, but I always thought you meant well, and your edits helped greatly in maintaining the visa policy pages. Take this time off to cool off - I think having to deal with various spammers has taken its toll on you and your health, and it does seem like you need a long Wikibreak to reflect, cool off and calm down. Thank you very much. Although we have had occasional differences of opinion, I also know that your contribution is very significant.
This blocking happened because I reported it myself. I think I've been overheated by editing the visa policy. I will take a break.
And if possible, it would be nice if you could update all countries' visa policies on my behalf.
I was tired from many battles with other spammers. I believe you will create good pages.

Based on your answers below, I have to agree with Yamla and say that you are not going to be able to successfully edit on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is absolutely not a reliable source, and you would know that after making over 8,000 edits. If you still wish to edit, I would recommend building a track record of editing at Simple Wikipedia. (Instructions for writing at Simple English Wikipedia.) Once you have done some good work there, you can request an unblock here. Be careful – they have a strict one-strike policy for editors blocked on other projects. Good luck. I need some answers to the following questions in your own words before I can consider unblocking you:
  1. When is it okay to make personal attacks?
  2. Under what circumstances are you allowed to use more than one account?
  3. What edits do you wish to make when unblocked? Your answer should sound something like I want to expand <link to article> using these reliable sources: <links to reliable sources>.
  4. If you are unblocked, I will impose a single-account restriction. This means that Freevisa1234 will not be unblocked, and will you not be permitted to create any additional accounts for any reason whatsoever. If this condition is violated, you will be re-blocked immediately without any warning. Do you accept this condition?

1. Personal attacks are not allowed under any circumstances.
refer to personal attacks "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_personal_attacks#Responding_to_personal_attacks"
If I'm being attacked, the first thing I do is dodge.
2. refer to more than one account "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#Legitimate_uses"
Alternate accounts may only be used in emergencies, such as 'Security', 'Privacy', or 'Compromised accounts', and should not be used for inappropriate editing.
3.
3-1 - I want to expand Travel_visa using these reliable sources: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_visa#Visa_policies".
3-2 - I want to expand Henley Passport Index using these reliable sources: "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henley_Passport_Index".
I have always edited content about 'Visa', so I plan to work on the country-specific pages in the two links I mentioned.
4. I accept the condition that I am limited to a single account.

Given the answers provided, I strongly believe it would be a mistake to lift the block and oppose doing so. --Yamla (talk) 09:44, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I would like to request the account to be unblocked once more.

[edit]

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Lades2222 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I admit that I made personal attacks out of revenge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lades2222) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bourenane_Chahine) before 6 months, and I have deeply regretted it. I am reflecting. So, as a way of reflecting, I stopped working here for 6 months.
And I pledge to the following:
1. I will never make personal attacks under any circumstances. ("https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_personal_attacks#Responding_to_personal_attacks")
2. Alternate accounts may only be used in emergencies, such as 'Security', 'Privacy', or 'Compromised accounts', and should not be used for inappropriate editing. ("https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry#Legitimate_uses")
3. I want to expand Henley Passport Index using these reliable sources: "https://www.henleyglobal.com/passport-index".
--> There was a misunderstanding about the English translation. So I wrote a "reliable" source.
4. I agree not to create or use any additional accounts, including “freevisa1234”.

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks.
