Intriguing

[edit]

Hello Martin, I have visited the article Frankfurt Rhine-Main and noticed you enlarged the pictures from 200px to 330px. That created what we call WP:STACKING. I did not correct you, of course. Instead, I thought about coming here and ask you what makes a top-notch user like you, so versatile in photography (your user page is full of wonderful pictures by the way), not to get bothered by the way an article is presented. That's what it seems to me judging by your contributions  ! I've probably met tens of users here who like photography, paintings and pictures, as much as you do, and one thing I believe you all have in common is the way a photo is presented, that is, preferably 500px or larger to say the least. Please tell me, because I hope to learn something from you, how do you see Wikipedia ? Does it bother when you see an article like this ?

Rue de Braque nº 14.

This morning I corrected the position of this picture because when they're scattered all over the article things are not perfect (perfect like your pictures for instance). Would you buy a book full of photos like the one on the left ?

Maybe we could create a whole gallery full of colorful pictures with even more pictures scattered along every article, but placed only on the right because like this we make room for those who wish to correct us, right  ? You know, this is Wikipedia and here users (some prefer to be incognito so they do whatever they want without being reprimanded by those who want to make things right, that is, to follow the rules) do what is needed. Well... not always.

Yesterday I was asked to translate the article Eugénio de Andrade to English, and once more I did it. I made that thing into some thing, which for me makes this place a better place to be. It's even better when I find people who better what I do. Man... I get really excited when I have the chance to give my colleagues the chance to read: Krenakarore would like to "thank" you for your recent edit. Some others revert what I do (because sometimes I replace those tens of photos to a link to Commons), but it's alright. Things keep constantly changing here anyway.

Please don't take me amiss, you can do whatever you want and place your pictures any where you wish, it's alright. Who am I to say the opposite after all ? I just want to know how you see things here (maybe I should start doing what everybody else d52s ! That would be a lotta fun) ! Krenakarore TK 09:09, 7 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Krenakarore: I'm not quite shure whether or not your post was ment to be as sarcastic as it sounds, but I really don't wan't to argue about image placement questions.
I did not create this staking problem. Like all the images, it was there before, but only visible on smaller screen resolutions. All I did was enlarging the panoramas (so that one could actually guess, what might be visible on this pictures) and exchanging one of them. My mistake was, that I tested the result just on full-HD-res and missed the stacking problem. Sorry about that.
I just fixed the problem by collapsing all the thumbs into a gallery and hope everything is fine now. // (talk) 17:41, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Martin Kraft: I call it "sense of humor"  !
No need for apologies, that happened to myself. Is it... better ? Krenakarore TK 22:08, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Drottningholm Palace

Drottningholm Palace is the private residence of the Swedish royal family, located on an island on the outskirts of Stockholm. The gardens and parks surrounding the castle are one of the main attractions for the tourists who visit the palace each year. This photograph shows a view of the Baroque garden through a window of the palace. Along with the rest of the palace grounds, the garden was neglected during the 19th century, but was restored in the 1950s and 1960s on the initiative of King Gustaf VI Adolf.
