Vandal removing of info

Please don´t remove information from the infoboxes as you did in Dušan Kerkez page before confirming the sources already on the page. FkpCascais (talk) 19:55, 17 November 2009 (UTC) After looking the case closelly, your argument is the Croatian wiki, where the text is completely UNSOURCED. After trying to find reasons for having the clubs from the crowiki linked with him, I only finded one source: a transfers-FORUM. You should really have in mind one situation: if you want to chek Serbian clubs, you should know that Croatian(in this case) or Albanian sources may not be the best. Even more if (again) UNSOURCED!!! By the way, the club "Radnički Obrenovac" does match in both wiki´s, so wy you removed it? Do you speak Croatian? Becouse the crowiki text about Kerkez says he was the team captain in FK Voždovac. That is very unlike being the player in the begining of his career...! Please don´t remove info that is sometimes so hard to get (about Serbian or other ex-Yu clubs), specially if well SOURCED!!! (you say one source, how many do you need???). Regards FkpCascais (talk) 03:55, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

In English wiki is un-sourced either. Matthew_hk tc 10:47, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

A favour

Hi there MATTHEW, VASCO here,

When i had the anonymous account of 217.129.67.28, i was accused two times by you of vandalism, at John Jairo Mosquera and Bruno Vale, when it was false (please check edit history, see my edits, and tell me what vandalism do you see).

Now, it's my time, but not with false accusations, but facts: please stop removing the ZEROZERO.PT link i add to some players, especially at those which are Portuguese or have played in that league for a good number of years. You did that at César Prates and Paíto, please stop, respect other people's work.

Thank you, have a nice week,

VASCO, Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 01:46, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Just like Juliano Pescarolo Martins "Paquito", the entry is wrong. The site add non-exist career at Spain for 2009-10, but i checked the club site there is no Paquito. I submitted the new information but the noob admin deleted Paquito past career at Portugal only recently fixed.
Except for player have stats. I have question on career information by zerozero. The site may not be so reliable now. Also, smabafoot sometimes have problem on their information but seems more reliable. So please verify the information and make zerozero a optional link. For sure C. Ronaldo i will add it but other player may not. Matthew_hk tc 22:53, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Don't know about that player, i have never even edited there. When i add ZEROZERO link, it is because i know it is reliable: when players are internationals or have played in the league for many years. Please, when i add it leave it be (when you add some site which i feel is good i will not remove it too). Until some other time, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:57, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I was thinking of de-prodding this article but then I noticed you both created and prod'd it. However Sora were playing in a professional league in 2004-05 (C1, now LPPD). Here [1] is a reference to him being in the squad for 04/05 which I know is not the same as playing, but is there a good chance he did play for the club that season, which further search for sources may turn up? Regards Eldumpo (talk) 10:35, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes he is in the squad of Sora but i cannot find the source he made he professional debut there. Matthew_hk tc 10:37, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Omani footballer article names

Hello Matthew hk. I noticed that you have moved several articles to new locations which contain the full name of the footballer. I believe this is the wrong decision since WP:COMMONNAME indicates we ought to place articles at the location where users are most likely to find them. Footballers like Fawzi Bashir are almost always referred to by their given names in the media (even in Arabic sites like koora.com or goalzz.com). Just like Portuguese, Angolan and Brazilian footballers (and some Egyptian footballers), we don't always use the full name for the name of the article. I don't want to start an edit war but you have reverted me and made a controversial move of the articles. Perhaps we can discuss in more detail at WT:FOOTY or on the article talk pages? Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 12:45, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Just like the case of Adriano (ex-Inter) and Adriano (Seville), the arabic name consist of three parts: Porper name, the patronymic and the surname (start with Al and El). It is too many name sake if only consider the first two as name. And it is too wrong sorting them by patronymic. Matthew_hk tc 12:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
We can fix the sorting issue separately. My concern is that the article should not be at the full name (include surname) if that is not commonly used. Don't you agree that FIFA and almost every media source only uses the given and patronymic names to describe these players (e.g., do a Google News search on Khalifa Ayil)? Jogurney (talk) 13:25, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Current practice for Brazilian is except very notable people: Ronaldo, Lúcio, Ronaldinho, Edmílson and Roberto Carlos, all other use full name, including Adriano, Julio Cesar. Matthew_hk tc 13:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
I've begun a discussion at WT:FOOTY because I disagree and would like to understand what the concensus has been in the past. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 14:46, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
In the meantime, please stop moving the articles until we know the proper location for them. It will save a lot of work if you wait. Jogurney (talk) 14:48, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Please look at the match report of AFC, they were refer to his first name At least fixing the sort key is the first task. Matthew_hk tc 14:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

In AFC official record Mohammed Rabia Al-Noobi is refer to Mohammed or Mohammed Al-Noobi and FIFA.com use Mohammed Rabia it is better keep both patronymic and surname.[2] There is a few English coverage for common name, as most of the player played inside middle east. Matthew_hk tc 14:59, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Using google hit Mohammed Rabia is fewer than Mohammed Rabea but almost no editorial hit. They is no define common name used by media, unlikes Luiz Adriano. It is because they were not noted in English/Western World. Matthew_hk tc 16:10, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Expatriates

Hi Matthew, I just want to check with you about if I´m using this categories the same way as you do or not:

  • All Xianian expatriate footballers are the ones that have played out of Xiania, in any time of the career, not necessarily now.
  • All Expatriate footballers in Xiania are those footballers that played in Xiania, in any time of the career, not necessarily now.

This has been the way I have been aplying these categories, but I see some (mostly new) editors removing the "Expatrite footballers in Xiania" category when a player doesn´t play in Xiania no long. Or, removing "Xianian expatriate footballers" when a player plays again in Xiania, having returned from abroad, and being no more an expatrite.

Maybe the way those editors apply the categories would be more correct with the exact meaning of the categories, but as the constant update of them would be extremely difficult, I think it´s easier to apply the categories as I wrote you in those points. This way is nice to see all players that have played in a certain country, and all players of a certain nationality that played abroad. In some recent edits of yours, I see you also apply them that way too, so, you agree, right? FkpCascais (talk) 05:10, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

As the Category:German-born footballers who played for other national teams is deleted, it is hard to define dual nationality player, they were not expatriate if have enough source to prove his dual nationality.
For example, Guilherme Siqueira and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not expatriate footballers in Italy and France as both whey holds Italian and French nationality. For the former, he spent his entire professional career at Italy, it notable sports nationality is Italy. For the latter, he capped for French U21 so should be kept in French footballers cat, he is both French expatriate and Gabonese expatriate as he does not holds Italy nationality, but he also holds French nationality so he is NOT expatriate in France.
I remove cat for dual nationality case. Matthew_hk tc 08:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

For Hamit Altıntop case, i add back Expatriate cat because Germany nationality law did not grant German born baby with citizen status, it is possibly his parent had German nationality and made his spent entire career in Germany, BUT there is no reliable source to prove he really have German nationality so better sort him in Expatriate in Germany. Matthew_hk tc 08:20, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Category in wikipedia is contain both past and present Category:Current Serie A players was deleted nad replaced by Category:Serie A players (now Category:Serie A footballers, those remove the cat wrongly you can give advise then content removal waring. Yes i'm the user likes to eat newbie. Matthew_hk tc 08:24, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
I see I wrote wrong my two points. Correction:
  • All Xianian expatriate footballers are the Xianians that have played out of Xiania, in any time of the career, not necessarily now.(what you said, past and present)
  • All Expatriate footballers in Xiania are those foreign non-Xianian footballers that played in Xiania, in any time of the career, not necessarily now.(past and present, excluding dual-nationals with Xianian nationality, as you said).
And you also gave good exemple about the competition cats. La Liga players includes past and present La Liga players, like in your Serie A exemple.
Hey, have you followed the Footy Project debates? Some members want to remove flags from players in club squads, and also the former/notable players lists that don´t have criteriums (almost all clubs have those lists without criteriums!). I recognise there is some reason, but the articles will loose much with this! FkpCascais (talk) 08:48, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Please, do not remove Dominic Adiyiah from A.C. Milan squad list. As long as ACMilan.com lists him here and not here, we have to assume that he's part of the first team – just like Zigoni, by the way. Also, the regulations of the Primavera championship clearly states that only players born on or after 1 January 1990 are eligible to play, while a maximum of four players (of which three must be born on or after 1 January 1989 anyway) might be used in each game as over-age players. — Luxic (talk) 16:51, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Palilulac...

Hi Mat. What´s up? I hope you´re o´right. Listen, I corrected some terrible mistake you did some time ago. You messed up all "Palilulac" clubs... Well, I don´t blame you, it was not a very clear situation, but you should have tried to ask someone at least. The problem is with this three articles:

Initially, the articles were right. There was two articles, the Krnjača and Niš ones. But, you made a huge mistake by renaming the Niš one to "FK Palilulac Beograd". The problem is that Beograd,(Belgrade) is the Krnjača one (Krnjača is a Belgrade suburb), and has nothing to do with Niš, another city some 400km away... So, basically, you aniquilated one club (the Niš one), and made a double page for another club (the Beograd/Krnjača one). Well, I solved this out. You were right about one thing: There is definitely a "FK Palilulac Beograd". It should stay as "FK Palilulac Beograd" (official name) leaving the "FK Palilulac Krnjača" as a redirect page, because the club is also know by that name. Now, the problem was that you eliminated the "FK Palilulac Niš", that I restored now.

Anyway, in case of doubts I´ll gladly help you if I can, don´t hesitate. Well, I hope you´re having fun and I send you regards. :) FkpCascais (talk) 07:51, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
