Ben Berlin

Why is Ben Berlin unworthy of inclusion in a list of Estonian Jews? Perhaps it was not well-known that he was from Tallinn? Max Tammbeck 79.64.103.190 (talk) 13:35, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Your addition was a really weird redlink. I would recommend not using a wiki-link in such case when the page doesn't exist - and including a reliable source (WP:RS) which would specify why Ben Berlin is noteworthy and should be included to the page. --Sander Säde 16:13, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

Sorry eesti keele pärast. Vaatan, et oled vist üks peamisi Eesti teemaga tegelejaid inglise vikis. Ma ise olen Eesti teemaga seotud maailma vikidega (täpsemalt vikidega, kus on kategooria "Eesti") hea ülevaate saanud: koondnimekiri on siin: et:Kasutaja:Bioneer1/Estopeedia projekt (failist struktureeritum vaade nt Microsoft Wordiga).

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Kelluke

Hello Sander Säde. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Kelluke to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. Thank you. -- GB fan 10:28, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Nature reserves in Estonia

Hi Sander Säde,

We had a brief conversation about nature reserves in Estonia quite a while ago. I just wanted to tell you I've done as many as I think it's possible without access to Estonian language sources (though I've a strong liking to and interest in Estonia I don't speak the language). If you by any chance would set your eyes upon any English-language source for some nature reserve I haven't done, please let me know and I'll be happy to make an article. Also feel free to supply pictures for the once that don't have any, if you might get your hands on pics as well. Best regards, Yakikaki (talk) 18:52, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello, and thank you for the articles! As for the sources, let me look - unfortunately, I will not be able to do that at least til Monday. --Sander Säde 04:42, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

No rush, I'll be around. Yakikaki (talk) 13:12, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Not all that much that I could find - and you've probably have these sources already:
However, I will probably be more helpful when it comes to pictures - I have pictures of quite a few nature reserves already. And as I like to tend short "photo trips" in the summer anyway, so if you could let me know what nature protection areas need pictures most, then I could just visit those and take some photos.
--Sander Säde 09:51, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, I should definitively be able to patch together at least some stubs or short articles based on these sources. As for pictures, I'm really grateful for any – at the moment the absence of pictures is spread pretty much evenly across the nature reserves of Estonia. Lately for example I've added several articles about nature reserves on Hiiumaa, which lack pictures. If I could wish freely, I would like some pictures from these. But the problem is general, so any extra pictures would be valuable. (By looking at the linked articles at the List of protected areas of Estonia, you can quickly see which I haven't been able to find pictures for.) Still, Estonia is by far better covered in this regards than for example Latvia or many parts of Sweden. You have a beautiful country, truly. :) Yakikaki (talk) 16:13, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure how active you are these days on English Wikipedia, but if you are you might be interested in this project to increase the number and quality of articles related to Estonia and the rest of the Baltic states here. It would be great to have you on board. Best, Yakikaki (talk) 16:01, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi, Sander Säde,
I have declined the speedy deletion of this article, as playing for the Estonian national men's football team is a Wikipedia:Credible claim of significance, and the WP:A7 speedy deletion criterion doesn't apply in these cases. That's just a technicality.
The important question here is: was there a football player named "Eduard Jõepere" or of a similar name who played one match for the Estonian national team in the 1920s?
It seems to me this might have been a spelling mistake that has been perpetuated across internet sources. I think the correct spelling - and I rely on the Wikipedia article Estonian orthography - should be "Eduard Jöepere".
Your thoughts about this? Peter Austraalias aka --Shirt58 (talk) 10:28, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi and thank you
I can only find two credible'ish sources about this player - entry for 1921 game and listing of national team players from Postimees. All other quick-google sources seem to be even more dubious, or based on Wikipedia.
As the inclusion criteria for football in general seems to be rather low, is that sufficient to keep the article?Sander Säde 10:43, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
Hi Sander Säde
Following up on this
@GiantSnowman and Sir Sputnik: I have pinged the two English language Wikipedia subject matter experts - like it or not, you two - about football into this discussion.
What do you think about this? Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:55, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
Excellent idea to get some subject matter experts involved - thank you once again! Sander Säde 12:38, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
