1930 World Cup

[edit]

Please can you comment on on the talk page before making any more changes about the 3rd/4th place issue. To list Yugoslavia as 3rd in a section entitled "FIFA retrospective ranking" makes no sense when FIFA ranks Yugoslavia 4th. Oldelpaso (talk) 20:24, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose what I'd be most interested in is any material that's not covered in the article already. For instance, a source currently cited in the article says there was no 3rd/4th match because Yugoslavia were upset with the refereeing in their semi-final. Is this what the Politika piece says? If it says something different, than that would be useful to have. Oldelpaso (talk) 22:27, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tatjana Pašić has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of satisfying either WP:GNG or WP:POLITICIAN.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Serbian help needed

[edit]

Hello Snake bgd, I'm contacting you because we need some Serbian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on sr.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Serbian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:50, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am on the job what you need? Snake bgd 23:35, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Snake, right on! Here are the priority pages, simply click "translate this page" at the top of each to get started:
  1. the User Guide, Serbian 0% complete.
  2. Portal/Description page, Serbian 0% complete (this one is important because the translation can become the main VE page on sr.wiki, which doesn't have a VE general description page yet).
  3. FAQ, Serbian 0% complete. As you can see, much work to be done! I'm glad to have you helping. PEarley (WMF) (talk) 23:59, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Ne menjaj bez razloga

[edit]

--Sundostund (talk) 23:58, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
--Sundostund (talk) 12:23, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
--Sundostund (talk) 15:14, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Zahvaljujem :) Opet kazem, ako uocis bilo kakav nedostatak, slobodno ga ispravi. --Sundostund (talk) 20:23, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
--Sundostund (talk) 20:32, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hvala Sradivojevics (talk) 12:57, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Vlada u egzilu

[edit]

--Sundostund (talk) 16:36, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nacelnici Generalstaba Vojske Crne Gore

[edit]

Zdravo jos jednom! Evo, napravio sam clanak o crnogorskim nacelnicima - Chief of the General Staff (Montenegro). --Sundostund (talk) 15:28, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

LA edit-a-thons on February 14, 17, and 21

[edit]
Redondo Loves Wikipedia (2/14), Wik-Ed Women (2/17), and Unforgetting LA at the Getty (2/21)!

Dear fellow Wikipedian,

The LA Wikipedia community has three events in mid-February -- please consider attending!

First, we have a Valentine's Day edit-a-thon appropriately named Redondo Loves Wikipedia, which will take place at the Redondo Beach Public Library from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, February 14. Join library staff, the Redondo Beach Historical Society, and others to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of Redondo Beach!

Second, we have a Wik-Ed Women editing session on Tuesday, February 17 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. This series of informal get-togethers is designed to encourage Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome!) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists.

Third, we have an Unforgetting LA event put on by East of Borneo in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. Come help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LA design and architecture, and have an awesome free day at the museum -- parking will be validated for edit-a-thon participants! If you'd like to use particular books from GRI's great collection, be sure to email before 2/13 (instructions at event page).

And be sure to check out our main meetup page, because we already have three SoCal events scheduled for early March!

If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Because you joined more than ten years ago, I am asking if you still want to be listed as a participant. I’ll be deleting those who say no or don’t answer, and then we can move merrily forward. Notice

The file File:Sakugawa.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:43, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Despite what the template says, there are problems with your editing so far. If you try to editwar your silliness in again, you'll be immediately blocked. See Talk:Joe_Biden#Temporary_suspension_of_WP:1RR_rule. EEng 23:29, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Custom signature fix needed

[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.
If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
