A kitten for you!

[edit]

Despite the obvious impediments in your path, you continue to work productively, attempting to collaborate in a civil manner with other editors at Pan Am (TV series) and List of Pan Am episodes. Hopefully this kitten will put a smile on your face.

AussieLegend, your short note is very much appreciated.Television fan (talk) 13:05, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

List of Pan Am episodes

[edit]

The lead section is supposed to summarise an article, and listing the number of episodes that have aired as of a certain date is part of that summarising. Removal of "As of February 19, 2012, fourteen episodes have aired, and the first season has finished airing" is inappropriate as it means the lede does not properly summarise an article. --AussieLegend (talk) 18:10, 20 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Read my most recent edit summary on it but check this out: Sean Bennett is a classified as a good article he was cut August 22 during the preseason and it says "Offseason and/or practice roster member only" should say squad based on the consensus but the point remains.--Rockchalk717 19:29, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gliding Over All, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Bowen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey, saw you tried adding the citations I listed. The editor is now referring to you and I as terrorists, and because you added stuff which supported my claim, he will probably try to prove you are a sockpuppet. He may come after you, Figured I'd give you a heads up. If he keeps being uncivil we may have to report him.

Mission Impossible edits

[edit]

Hello,

On the Mission Impossible episode list page, you recently undid a change I made (and in turn my change had been an undo of a previous change). I wanted to ask about this.

The reason I originally changed that page was because the formerly included/inline episode summaries had been removed. At the time, I didn't realize that they'd been moved to different pages (one page per season), and on the basis that I thought they were simply lost, I undid the change. I now see that the episode summaries are accessible through separate links, so I realize the change isn't wantonly (or unknowingly) destructive, but I don't see the value proposition.

Before the change, the procedure for finding an episode summary with (for example) "kitten" in it was this:

  • open the page that is labeled as an episode list for the show
  • use the browser's search function to find the word "kitten"

After the change, the procedure is this:

  • open the page that is labeled as an episode list for the show
  • use the browser's search function to find the word "kitten"
  • not finding the word, possibly just assume no episodes have the word, and give up
  • somehow deduce that the summaries are on separate pages
  • for every page for the various seasons of the show, find the link, load it, and search the resulting page

Can you help me understand what the proposed value of the change is, and whether you believe said value outweighs the inconvenience introduced?

Thanks... Xray215 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xray215 (talkcontribs) 14:11, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter if he's never played. Across all sports player's pages when a player signs with a team, but has yet to play a game with team, it still says "....who currently plays for the _____________". He's going to start working out with team, practicing with them, etc. therefore he does currently play for the team. Leave as currently plays for.--Rockchalk717 22:41, 20 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Brandi Brandt may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Mlpearc (open channel) 00:18, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, your last edit to the Better Call Saul episode got me thinking how we should link to episodes within the plot section... It'd be great if you could take a look at this RfC! Rayukk (talk) 19:58, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, most definitely. It provides the reader information where the incident previously occurred. Generally, the link will provide more of the story and background of the story. I find it very helpful to refresh the reader's recollection of the incident that occurred in a prior episode. A good example is the link " an earlier conversation" found in Gliding Over All which references back to a previous episode Bullet Points (Breaking Bad). Republican Debates

[edit]

I do not wish to partake in the edit war which you are beginning to start. However, it can be inferred from the source that it was in fact the msot-watched in history. Furthermore, I can provide a source to establish this if logical inference is insufficient to please you. It is necessary to mention this fact, not only for its historical significance, but its mention clarifies to the reader that it is the most-viewed cable telecast in history of ratings. This is fact can be established, is significant, is not biased, and is not embellishment (and where does it say a degree of embellishment is improper? Articles ought to be of high quality to read, they ought to be engaging, and more aesthetic writing provides that engagement.) Spartan7W § 18:51, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Your recent editing history at George Papadopoulos shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 20:39, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
