Literally, take up. Similar to Norwegian Nynorsk ta opp.

ta upp (present tar upp, preterite tog upp, supine tagit upp, imperative ta upp)

  1. to pick up
    Synonym: plocka upp
    Han tog upp en penna
    He picked up a pencil
  2. to bring up (a topic)
    Vi tog upp det på mötet
    We discussed it during the meeting
  3. to take up (time or space)
    Mötet kommer ta upp hela dagen
    The meeting will take up the whole day
