- Added to stems of adjectives, rarely to the stems of verbs, and even more rarely to the stems of nouns, to form feminine abstract nouns
Usage notes
[edit]When this suffix is appended to verbal adjectives in -τός (-tós) or other stems in τ, the τ palatalizes to σ.
Example: ἄκρατος > ἀκρασία
