Suffix
[edit]-sht
- Forms adverbs from nouns, frequently corresponds to English -ly. Suffix used for:
- → feminine nouns ending with -i f (“-er, -ery, -y, -ty, -ness”) (in their indefinite form).
- marri f (“foolery”) + -sht → marrisht (“foolishly”)
- tërësi f (“entirety”) + -sht (“-ly”) → tërësisht (“entirely”)
- → masculine nouns ending with -i m (“the”) (in their definite form).
- vazhdim m (“continuation”) + -i (“the”) + -sht (“-ly”) → vazhdimisht (“continually”)
- Otherwise suffix -isht is used. To form adverbs from adjectives (see -isht for more).
