Usage notes
[edit]- In Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, it is common to use 潮州話 as the general term for the Teochew dialect. This usage is often considered dated in Mainland China, especially in Guangdong, where 潮汕話/潮汕话 (cháoshànhuà) may be preferred as the general term.
