Usage
This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, to provide a citation to the Merriam-Webster Online ("MW Online") website.
Parameters

– the name of the entry on MW Online. If this parameter is not stated, the name of the Wiktionary entry is used.|pos=
or|part of speech=
– the part of speech of the entry. By default, the template italicizes the value assigned to the parameter and adds a full stop (period) to the end. To turn off the default formatting for the purpose of specifying a different formatting using wikitext markup and templates, specify|noformat=1
or|noformat=yes

or|url=
– if the default URL is not linking to the correct webpage, use this parameter to indicate the URL of the MW Online webpage to be linked to.|subentry=
– a term that appears as a subentry under an entry.|subpos=
– the part of speech of the subentry.|source=

to display the source relied on by MW Online: Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (11th edition, 2003).|3=
