Inherited from Chagatai دولت (dawlat /⁠däwlät⁠/, state), from Classical Persian دَوْلَت (dawlat, state), from Arabic دَوْلَةٌ f (dawlatun, a state, a country). Cognate with Uyghur دۆلەت / dölet / дөләт.
