[edit]From Arabic فِي أَيْنَ (fī ʔayna). By surface analysis, f’ + *ejn. Compare Tunisian Arabic فين (fīn/fāyn), Moroccan Arabic فين (fīn), فاين (fāyin), Hijazi Arabic فين (fēn) and Egyptian Arabic فين (fēn).
