Possibly Chinese, according to Zorc (1993) & Santos (1978), possibly Hokkien 山崩地裂 (soaⁿ-pang-tōe-li̍h, uproarious; riotous; outrageous, literally the mountains collapse and the earth splits open). Compare Cebuano swapang (oppressively opportunistic).
