We recognize your mental health is important. We also recognize that studying and practicing engineering is rewarding, but also demanding. To better support you, the Counseling Center has launched a new embedded services program. By placing counselors onsite, the Counseling Center makes it easier for engineering students to get mental health services and offers more direct access for Clark School faculty and staff to consult with a mental health professional about how to best support students. AnTanique Buckley serves as an Embedded Counselor from the Counseling Center within the A. James Clark School of Engineering.

The Embedded Counselor is a licensed mental health professional employed by the Counseling Center. As such, all mental health services provided by the Embedded Counselor are confidential and follow Counseling Center policies (visit the Counseling Center FAQs page for more information).

The Embedded Counselor works specifically for Maryland Engineering, tailoring services and programs to the unique needs of engineering students. Information about additional Counseling Center services, resources, and programs is available at counseling.umd.edu. Urgent services are available to students in person at the Shoemaker Building during business hours or by phone at (301) 314-7651 outside of business hours.

Available Drop-in Sessions:

2024 Election Stress 20 Minute Drop-in Sessions offered twice a week, Oct. 29 - Nov. 21, 2024: Individual drop-in sessions for all engineering students to address election stress, the anxiety, worry, or tension that often occurs during election periods. Use this support resource to discuss how the upcoming election is impacting you and tools to address it.
