Joseph F. Vlez was born in Puebla, Mxico, attended the Baptist Seminary four years, taught there two years, and pastored several churches. Vlez was born in Puebla, Mxico, attended the Baptist Seminary four years, taught there two years, and pastored several churches. He moved to the United States as a pastor in 1955, earned a BA from Howard Payne University, and earned a PHD from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Vlez then taught at OU for six years, and at Western Kentucky University for three years before settling in Waco and teaching at Baylor University for thirty years until his retirement in 2001. Dr. Vlez now lives in Duncanville, Texas. He has continued preaching at various churches in Texas and Arkansas, and has published two collections of short stories, and numerous books related to Spanish and Latin American languages and literature in Mexico and Colombia. He has also published numerous solicited religious articles in Texas, Colombia and Venezuela, and has published a short play titled El Prdigo.ver menos
