instrucciones claras para que usted obtenga el mejor provecho de su
refrigerador en cuanto a seguridad, confort y ahorro de energa.
Lea este instructivo cuidadosamente antes de instalar su refrigerador,
de esto depende la validez de su garanta.

Antes de conectar su refrigerador

indicaciones generales
Retire las bases, empaque y dems aditamentos del mismo. Para
quitar el pegamento dejado por las cintas adhesivas de sujecin, se
debe de utilizar un trapo humedecido con agua y jabn neutro.
Seleccione el rea para ubicar el refrigerador, sta debe mantenerse
limpia y sin humedad para evitar problemas de oxidacin.

Considere las siguientes distancias mnimas para garantizar una
circulacin de aire adecuada, sobre todo si se va a empotrar el
producto: de 5 cm en los lados, 10 cm en la parte posterior y de 5
a 10 cm en la parte superior.
Aljelo de elementos que generen calor como estufas, calentadores,
o exponerlo a los rayos del sol, ya que ocasionar que trabaje ms
y sea menos eficiente, incrementando el consumo de energa
elctrica.
No lo recargue contra la pared. Con esta medida estar
garantizando un correcto desempeo de producto, impidiendo
que los componentes de su refrigerador toquen directamente las
paredes o muebles, evitando ruidos desagradables.

Para nivelar el refrigerador utilice los dos tornillos niveladores, insrtelos

y ajstelos de manera que descansen firmemente en el piso.

La parte de enfrente deber quedar un poco ms alta que la parte

posterior dejando ligeramente inclinado hacia atrs su refrigerador,
esto facilitar que las puertas cierren por s mismas, y evitar la
prdida de fro.
Algunos modelos poseen un faldn para tapar los tornillos y evitar
la acumulacin de polvo por debajo de su refrigerador.
El faldn se encuentra en el interior de su Refrigerador por favor
siga los siguientes pasos para ensamblarlo.

1) Alinee los clips de su faldn en lnea recta a los orificios que se

encuentran en la parte inferior de su Refrigerador.
2) Una vez insertados presiones hacia el refrigerador hasta alinear
la pared posterior del faldrn al refrigerador.
3) Listo! Su faldn est ensamblado.

Como instalarlo

Antes de conectar la clavija en el enchufe, limpie el interior de su

refrigerador usando un trapo o esponja suave y jabn neutro, o
una solucin de bicarbonato de sodio.
Para una instalacin adecuada se debe tomar en cuenta lo
siguiente:

Caractersticas: 115 V - 60 Hz de uso residencial. Provista

preferentemente con un interruptor general y circuitos
independientes balanceados, protegidos por listn fusible y/o
pastilla termo magntica de 15 a 20 Amperes Mx.
1) Su refrigerador est provisto de un cable tomacorriente
polarizado tipo Y con cable a tierra integrado. Por ningn motivo
elimine la tierra colocando un adaptador, ni corte el cable para
reemplazar su clavija por una de dos terminales.
Por su seguridad, su instalacin debe ser realizada como se muestra
en la figura A.
2) Si su instalacin elctrica no cuenta con este tipo de contacto
adquiera uno, el cual debe ser instalado por un tcnico calificado,
de no ser as es entera responsabilidad de cliente cualquier
riesgo personal y/o material que pueda ocasionar el producto.
Revise las instrucciones en la etiqueta colocada en el cordn de
alimentacin con letras rojas.
3) Instale su refrigerador en el contacto ms cercano, evite a lo
mximo utilizar extensiones elctricas y/o unir cables inadecuados
para la alimentacin de su refrigerador. Si por alguna razn tiene la
necesidad de utilizar una extensin elctrica consulte a un tcnico
especializado para que le indique el tipo y caractersticas de la
extensin que puede utilizar con seguridad.
4) Evite en la medida de lo posible conectar otro aparato elctrico
en el mismo contacto que est utilizando para su refrigerador
mientras ste se encuentre en funcionamiento. Esto le evitar tener
variaciones de voltaje y calentamientos en el mismo.
Nunca conecte su producto junto con otro aparato elctrico en el
mismo enchufe.
5) Para conectar y desconectar su refrigerador, sujete el tomacorriente
por la clavija y estire. Nunca jale el cordn.

Si usted vive en una regin donde hay variaciones de tensin nominal,

tenga en las siguientes precauciones:
No conecte su refrigerador en el enchufe.
Instale un regulador automtico de voltaje con una potencia
mnima de 1000 Watts.
Asegrese que el regulador soporte las variaciones de tensin
que haya en su regin.
Pida que un electricista calificado verifique el enchufe de la pared
y el circuito, para asegurarse que la salida est debidamente
conectada a tierra.
Para efectuar la conexin a tierra, siga las normas de puesta a
tierra y llame a un electricista calificado.
Si el cordn de alimentacin es daado, este debe ser
reemplazado por el fabricante, su agente de servicio o
personal calificado para evitar cualquier riesgo.

Su refrigerador cuenta con un dispositivo que evita la condensacin.
El calentamiento de algunas zonas externas de su refrigerador es
normal. Esto ocurre para evitar la condensacin de gotas de agua
en el exterior de su refrigerador. No obstante, en condiciones de
alta temperatura y alta humedad en el ambiente, pudiera llegar a
formarse una ligera condensacin. Seque con un trapo suave.

Deje reposar el refrigerador de 4 a 6 horas antes de conectarlo
para que permita que repose el gas y el aceite compresor.
Antes de conectar el refrigerador gire la perilla hasta la posicin
media ( entre 4-6).
Conecte la clavija o enchufe a la corriente.
Deje que funcione vaco y cerrado durante 4 horas antes de
introducir los alimentos.
Evite abrir la puerta para que se alcance la temperatura deseada.
Si desea colocar su refrigerador en otro lugar debe
desconectarlo.
Cuando ya est ubicado en el sitio elegido, repetir los pasos
mencionados.

Funcionamiento
Control de temperatura del enfriador
El control del congelador con los niveles mximo, medio y mnimo
permite ajustar el flujo de aire fro internamente.
Y el control del enfriador permite nivelar la temperatura del mismo
entre los niveles 1 (menos fro) y 9 (ms fro).

Control de temperatura
Para obtener la refrigeracin deseada se necesita buscar la mejor
combinacin de temperaturas del compartimiento congelador y
refrigerador. Siga las siguientes instrucciones:

1) Inicie la utilizacin de su producto manteniendo las posiciones

originales de la fbrica (posicin media en ambos controles).
Deje el aparato funcionar por 6 horas para que la temperatura se
estabilice. Despus de este perodo si usted necesita cambiar la
temperatura reajuste los controles.
2) El control del enfriador posee graduaciones que varan del 1
(menos fro) al 9 (ms fro). Si es necesario, ajuste este control y
observe los alimentos por algunas horas. Si usted requiere, podr
hacer nuevos ajustes hasta que obtenga el nivel de refrigeracin
deseado.
3) El control del congelador posee graduaciones mxima, media y
mnima. Se refiere a la cantidad de aire fro que ser lanzado al
compartimiento del congelador.

Notas:
1) A temperatura ambiente, la cantidad de apertura de puertas
influye en el rendimiento de su producto, por lo tanto cuanto
mayor es la temperatura ambiente y mayor la frecuencia de
apertura de puertas, mayor deber ser la graduacin del nivel de
temperatura de su enfriador.
2) No debe colocar alimentos en las salidas de aire fro provenientes
del enfriador, permitiendo que haya una adecuada circulacin
de aire en el interior y evitar que determinados alimentos se
congelen.

La temperatura del compartimiento del congelador, se ajusta

seleccionando el nivel de congelamiento en la perilla del control de
temperatura, ubicada en el interior de este compartimiento.

La temperatura interior puede variar dependiendo de la temperatura
ambiente. En los meses de calor (verano) es posible que el control
de temperatura necesite ajustarse para que enfre ms y en los
meses de fro (invierno) para que enfre menos.

El sistema de enfriamiento Vita Nova

1) Vita Nova es la nueva tecnologa de enfriamiento que cuenta con
mltiples salidas de fro envolvente que permite que tus alimentos
mantengan su sabor, frescura y calidad por ms tiempo sin importar
el lugar donde estn, porque enfra de manera uniforme para dar la
temperatura adecuada a cada uno de ellos.
Su refrigerador no necesita ser descongelado, ya que realiza el
deshielo automticamente (No Frost).

Dependiendo del modelo de su refrigerador, ste puede estar
provisto de varios tipos de cajones.

2) El cajn de carnes fras gourmet puede ser ubicado abajo de

cualquier parrilla, recomendamos utilizarlo en las primeras tres
posiciones. Su cajn gourmet est diseado para el almacenamiento
de quesos, carnes fras, embutidos y pizzas.
3) El cajn para legumbres individual est diseado para conservar
frescas las frutas y las verduras.

1) Los modelos de lujo cuentan con 2 cajones para facilitar el

almacenamiento independiente de frutas y verduras.
En algunos modelos el cajn o los cajones cuentan con control de
humedad.

2) El cajn de legumbres mantiene la temperatura y humedad
adecuada para el almacenamiento de sus alimentos, conservando
sus caractersticas naturales.
El uso adecuado del control de humedad permite regular el paso de
aire hacia el interior del cajn de acuerdo a sus necesidades.
Es recomendable mantener el control cerrado para conservar los
vegetales de hojas verdes y abierto para la conservacin de frutas.

3) Jale el cajn hasta el tope, presione firmemente el fondo del
cajn hacia abajo y con la otra mano retire simultneamente el
cajn.
Si requiere retirar el ensamble de cajones y tapas, jlelo como una
parrilla normal.

Algunos modelos cuentan con parrillas de cristal templado con
marco plstico. O bien, otros modelos cuentan con parrillas de
alambrn. En ambos casos las parrillas son multiposiciones. La
carga mxima recomendada para esta parrilla, es de 25 kg ( 55lb)
En caso de que necesite retirar las parrillas de cristal:
1.- Remueva cualquier alimento u objeto apoyado en ellos.
2.- Sujete la parrilla con las dos manos por la parte frontal, como se
muestra en la figura.
3.- Empuje el cristal con las yemas de los dedos hacia usted
ligeramente.
4.- Una vez que la parrilla se levant por la parte trasera,
desplcela hacia usted, sin soltarla.
5.- Para volver a colocar la parrilla sobre el riel deseado, asegrese
que este riel quede entre la ceja de la parrilla y la superficie,
como se muestra y empuje hasta sentir el tope de ensamble de
la parrilla.
6.- Para cambiar las otras parrillas proceda de la misma manera.

anaqueles
Segn el modelo de su refrigerador, puede venir equipado con
puerta de doble capacidad que es la ms grande del mercado y
cuenta con algunos de estos anaqueles (segn modelo).

1. anaquel gaveta
Su refrigerador puede venir instalado de fbrica con la gaveta, en
la cual usted tiene la versatilidad y conveniencia del almacenaje de
cosas como mantequilla, latas y frascos pequeos; se recomienda
no almacenar quesos y carnes fras en este espacio.
Para acceder a los anaqueles posteriores: levante ligeramente
el seguro de la gaveta para que sta pueda girar libremente;
asegrese de regresar a su posicin original y verifique que quede
asegurada.
La carga mxima recomendada es de 2 kg (4 lb).
Evite que los menores se cuelguen del anaquel, ste se puede
romper debido al sobrepeso.

2. anaquel ultracapacidad
Anaquel con gran capacidad y versatilidad en la puerta. Usted
puede almacenar recipientes grandes y botellas de 4 lt (Galn).

3. anaquel inclinado para botellas y latas

Anaquel que proporciona el espacio justo para almacenamiento

de latas en la parte frontal y en la parte posterior de este anaquel,
usted podr almacenar botellas altas. Adicionalmente, est
ergonmicamente diseado para que los productos puedan ser
cmodamente alcanzados.

4. anaquel de doble profundidad

Adecuado para colocar recipientes pequeos como yogurt para

beber, jugos, tetrapack, pequeos barnices de uas, etc. es ideal
para guardar pequeos frascos que se pudieran llegar a voltear en
otros anaqueles.
Otros accesorios con los que puede contar su refrigerador son:
Hueveras: Donde puede colocar gran cantidad de huevos en el
refrigerador

Nuevo control externo LCD

modelos de sper lujo (acero inoxidable)

Los modelos de sper lujo con control exterior estn equipados con
las siguientes funciones:
1. funcin de viaje
Esta funcin le permitir ahorrar energa cuando salga de viaje
(recomendable no mayor a 15 das).
En un viaje de ms de 15 das, desconecte, limpie y deje las puertas
abiertas de su refrigerador para que se ventile.
La funcin de viaje se activa directamente oprimiendo el botn, se
desactiva oprimiendo nuevamente el botn o al abrir la puerta del
enfriador por ms de 10 segundos.
Usted podr advertir que la funcin est activada ya que en la
pantalla comenzar la animacin de viaje que no cesar hasta que
desactive la funcin.
Notas: Cuando active la funcin, la puerta del enfriador debe estar
cerrada.
Si la funcin de turbo esta activada no puede activarse la funcin
de viaje y vice versa, estas funciones se contraponen.
2. funcin turbo
Esta funcin acelera el tiempo de enfriamiento y por consiguiente,
aumenta la velocidad de congelamiento.
La funcin turbo se activa directamente oprimiendo el botn, se
desactiva oprimiendo nuevamente el botn o despus de cumplir
con el ciclo ptimo establecido deacuerdo a las necesidades
especficas de cada aplicacin.
Usted podr advertir que la funcin est activada ya que en la
pantalla comenzar la animacin de turbo que no cesar hasta que
desactive la funcin o en automtico aproximadamente una hora
despus de haberla activado.
Nota: Si la funcin de turbo esta activada no puede activarse la
funcin de viaje y vice versa, estas funciones se contraponen.
3. funcin alarma
Esta funcin le indica con una animacin y sonido cuando la
puerta del enfriador permanece abierta por ms de un minuto,
(haciendo que el refrigerador sea menos eficiente y consumiendo
ms energa).
La funcin de alarma se activa o desactiva oprimiendo el botn.
Usted podr advertir que la funcin est activada ya que en la pantalla
comenzar la animacin de alarma junto con una seal sonora, las
cuales no cesarn hasta que desactive la funcin o cierre la puerta.

4. funcin candado
Esta funcin bloquear su control LCD impidiendo que alguien ms
cambie su programacin.
Para activar o desactivar, pulse simultneamente por 3 segundos
los botones de alarma y viaje.
Usted podr advertir que la funcin est activada ya que en la
pantalla comenzar la animacin de candado la cual permanecer
hasta que desactive la funcin, por lo que todas las funciones
estn bloqueadas. Si presiona cualquier botn, empezar una
animacin y se escuchar un sonido indicando que los controles
estn bloqueados.

5. funcin nivel de fro

Esta funcin es para establecer el nivel de fro para su refrigerador
en un rango de 1 (menos fro) a 9 (ms fro).
Cada vez que presiones el botn nivel, se desplegar el dgito
subsecuente, al llegar al 9 vuelve a empezar en 1. Si mantiene el
botn presionado, cambiar al siguiente nivel o dgito subsecuente
hasta que deje de presionarlo.
Cuando est manipulando esta funcin, estar una animacin
correspondiente.
Nota: Para el accionamiento de las funciones no se necesita una
fuerza excesiva sobre los botones. Todas las funciones tardan en
accionarse medio segundo o menos.
Al conectar el refrigerador, se debern encender todas las imgenes
de las funciones por 3 segundos y se escuchar un sonido por el
mismo tiempo. Despus de los 3 segundos la pantalla se apagar y
se colocara el nivel de fro 5 en donde se muestra el dgito en caso de
ser primera conexin, sino regresar al ltimo nivel seleccionado.

Algunos modelos cuentan con un dispositivo diseado para la
ptima fabricacin de hielo, el Practihielo. El cual se encuentra
ubicado en la puerta del congelador proporcionndole un mayor
espacio en el interior para congelar sus alimentos.
nota: Cuando utilice el Practihielo es muy importante que los
anaqueles del congelador estn colocados.

1. Para obtener los hielos retire el cajn jalndolo hacia usted.
2. Para llenar nuevamente las hieleras, retire el cassette
deslizndolo con cuidado hacia afuera.

3. Una vez afuera de su congelador gire el cassette en sentido
opuesto a las manecillas del reloj hasta dejarlo horizontal sobre
una superficie plana antes de llenarlo. Si a usted se le hace ms
sencillo llenarlo verticalmente, tambin puede hacerlo.
4. Las hieleras cuentan con un control de nivel de agua, si usted lo
excede, el agua se derramar.
Con las perillas de frente a usted, gire el cassette en sentido
de las manecillas del reloj. Las hieleras quedarn en posicin
horizontal.
5. Finalmente, coloque de nuevo el cassette dentro del practihielo.
Desplcelo sobre sus rieles asegurando que llegue hasta el final,
y espere a que se haga el hielo.
6. Asegrese de secar el exceso de agua en la parte inferior del
cassette antes de introducirlo a su congelador.

7. Gire cada perilla en el sentido de las manecillas del reloj hasta
que caigan los hielos en el cajn de la parte inferior. El cajn slo
puede almacenar los hielos de las 3 hieleras.
Asegrese que el cajn de hielos est vaci antes del siguiente
desmolde de hielos.
Limpie el piso donde es colocado el cajn por lo menos una vez
a la semana.

Recomendaciones de conservacin
Se recomienda guardar los alimentos en recipientes con tapa,
empacados o utilizando materiales que permitan mantenerlos sellados,
tales como papel aluminio, papel plastificado o portaviandas.
No coloque alimentos calientes en el enfriador o el congelador,
deber esperar a que logren la temperatura ambiente.
Procure abrir las puertas solamente el tiempo necesario para colocar o
retirar alimentos o bebidas. De esta forma usted estar reduciendo el
consumo de energa y mejorando el rendimiento de su refrigerador.
si est abriendo y cerrando constantemente la puerta del enfriador
para introducir o retirar alimentos, y desea abrir nuevamente la
puerta, sta puede presentar algo de dificultad. sta es una condicin
normal, debida al vaco que se forma en el interior del refrigerador por
el intercambio de aire a diferentes temperaturas. Puede esperar de
10 a 15 segundos y las puertas abrirn con facilidad nuevamente.
Guarde siempre la cebolla dentro de una bolsa de plstico o recipiente
hermtico para evitar que su olor contamine.
No guarde ajo dentro del refrigerador, el fro y la oscuridad promueven
la germinacin.
Al almacenar los alimentos en el congelador, prepare pequeas
porciones, esto facilitar un congelamiento ms rpido y una
utilizacin integral de cada porcin.
Si desea congelar rpidamente alimentos o fabricar cubos de hielo,
se recomienda colocarlos sobre la parrilla del congelador.
Observe siempre la fecha de caducidad de los productos congelados
indicada por el fabricante.
Una vez descongelado un alimento no podr ser congelado
nuevamente.
Los liquidos aumentan su volumen cuando son congelados.
Por eso tome la precaucin de no llenar hasta el borde con sustancias
liquidas los recipientes.
No colocar en el congelador recipientes cerrados de vidrio,
conteniendo lquidos. La rotura de recipientes de vidrio puede
provocar daos graves en el congelador.

Limpieza del refrigerador

Siempre desconecte la clavija del enchufe de su refrigerador, antes de

efectuar cualquier tipo de limpieza o verificacin tcnica.
1.- Nunca utilice productos txicos (amoniaco, etc.) o abrasivos
(pastas, etc.) ni fibras que daen el producto.
Utilice una esponja suave o trapo humedecido en agua con un jabn
neutro. Enjuague y seque bien con un trapo limpio y seco.
Tambin puede utilizarse para limpiar el interior, una solucin de una
cucharada de bicarbonato de sodio en dos litros de agua tibia.
No utilice fibras ni objetos afilados o puntiagudos que puedan rayar
el refrigerador, las parrillas o los anaqueles interiores.
2.- Para limpiar el condensador (en los modelos que lo tengan) utilice
un cepillo, trapo o esponja para eliminar el polvo acumulado. Procure
hacerlo por lo menos cada seis meses.

Para la limpieza del LCD debe utilizar una franela y/o trapo
hmedo suave. No utilice fibras metlicas ni duras ya que rayarn
su dispositivo

Para una limpieza de su Practihielo es recomendable desensamblarlo
de la siguiente manera:

1. Retire los anaqueles de la puerta, el cajn de hielos y el

2. En la puerta del congelador, deslice su Practihielo lateralmente

hacia su lado izquierdo hasta topar.
3. Separe la parte superior del soporte. Practihielo tomando los
laterales con ambas manos y jlela hacia usted separndolo de
la puerta.

4. Para desensamblar los componentes del cassette es necesario

empujar el perno C hacia fuera para liberarlo del cassette, las perillas
saldrn por s mismas. Repita estos pasos con las tres hieleras.
5. Lave las piezas del Practihielo utilizando slo una esponja suave
con agua y jabn neutro y despus squelo. Es importante no
utilizar fibras o productos abrasivos para lavarla (especialmente
sus hieleras).
Para ensamblar:
Nota: Durante la limpieza la cubierta del Practihielo puede
soltarse, para colocarla de nuevo en su lugar se requiere que las
guas inferiores de la cubierta entren en los orificios de la base del
soporte, despus alinee la gua lateral de la cubierta con el soporte
hasta que escuche que ensambl. No debe introducir el cassette
hasta que la cubierta est en su lugar.
1.Para ensamblar el cassette introduzca el perno A en el orificio O
cuidando que el perno B entre en la ranura R. Empuje la hielera

asegurndose que quede bien sujeta a la hielera. Repita estos
pasos con las tres hieleras.
2.Tome el Practihielo y llvelo hacia la puerta de su congelador.
Introduzca la gua inferior del soporte en el extremo izquierdo de
la ranura trasera de la puerta congelador.
3.Empuje la parte superior del Practihielo hasta que el soporte entre
en el fondo de la puerta.
4.Deslice su Practihielo hacia la derecha dejndolo en su posicin
original.
5.Coloque los anaqueles, el cassette y el cajn de hielos.

viajes y ausencias
En ausencias prolongadas, desconecte la clavija del enchufe.
Deje su refrigerador limpio y vaco, incluyendo las formas de hielo.
Deje la puerta entreabierta, colocando algn objeto que impida
que su puerta se cierre, para facilitar la renovacin del aire y evitar
la concentracin de malos olores.
Para perodos cortos de ausencia, su refrigerador podr permanecer
conectado. Pero recuerde que siempre existe la posibilidad de cortes
de energa elctrica mientras usted no se encuentre.
mudanza
Si se requiere acostar la unidad para su transportacin, hgalo
nicamente hacia el costado izquierdo (viendo su refrigerador de
frente).
Es necesario que antes de desplazar su refrigerador de lugar, meta
los tornillos niveladores hasta el fondo.
fallas en el suministro de energa elctrica
La mayora de las interrupciones en el suministro de energa
elctrica son corregidas en pocas horas. La temperatura interior no
se afecta hasta antes de 4 horas. Si la falla elctrica persiste por ms
de 6 horas le sugerimos que introduzca bolsas de hielo en ambos
compartimientos para ayudar a la conservacin de los alimentos.
Si su modelo cuenta con funcin de Viaje y Turbo, en una falla
elctrica, stas sern regresadas a su estado de no activacin
(indicador de funciones apagado).
No hay ninguna afectacin de su refrigerador al restablecer la
energa elctrica.
ruidos considerados normales
algunos ruidos son considerados propios del funcionamiento del
refrigerador. A continuacin, presentamos una tabla descriptiva de
los ruidos caractersticos del funcionamiento.

crujidos
Los crujidos se escuchan cuando el hielo se rompe. Es el mismo
ruido que ocurre cuando las charolas de hielo son retiradas del
congelador y expuestas a la temperatura ambiente.
ruido del compresor
Ruido caracterstico de motor. Significa que el compresor est en
funcionamiento.
ruido de expansin de gas
Ruido caracterstico de la expansin de gas en el sistema de
refrigeracin. Es un ruido semejante al generado cuando se llena
un baln de aire.
ruido de deshielo
Ruido caracterstico de agua escurriendo. Ocurre cuando el
producto est haciendo el deshielo.
ruido del sistema de ventilacin
Ruido caracterstico de ventilador, que muestra que el sistema Vita
Nova est en perfecto funcionamiento.
ruido de burbujeo de agua
Ruido caracterstico de burbujeo de agua en el sistema de deshielo,
que impide la entrada de calor a la unidad.
cambio de foco
Algunos modelos poseen iluminacin en el enfriador y el congelador,
otros slo poseen iluminacin en el enfriador.
Para reemplazar el foco, siga las siguientes instrucciones:
1) Desconecte su refrigerador.
2) Si es necesario, retire las parrillas y el cajn gourmet.
3) Retire el botn del control de temperatura, empujndolo en su
direccin (solamente para los modelos con control interno).

4) Con sus pulgares, jale la cubierta foco usted por la parte de

abajo y luego deslcela hacia abajo.
5) Retire la lmpara girando en el sentido anti-horario.
6) Sustituya la lmpara con otra de las mismas caractersticas

elctricas y dimensiones que la anterior.
7) Coloque la cubierta foco por la parte superior, deslcela hacia
abajo y luego empuje la parte inferior hasta que quede fija.
8) Coloque el control de temperatura (solamente para los modelos
con control interno), sus parrillas y su cajn de carnes.
9) Conecte su unidad.
10) Para cambiar la lmpara del congelador deslcela lateralmente
hacia el fondo del congelador y luego jlela hacia usted. Para
colocarla, siga estas instrucciones a la inversa.
11) Para los modelos que tienen la luz en la parte superior del enfriador,
quite la cubierta foco tomndola de la parte ms lejana, presione
hacia usted y saque hacia adelante y abajo sacando la lengeta de
la cubierta. Sustituya el foco. Para colocar la cubierta siga estas
instrucciones a la inversa.

Precaucin

No toque las paredes interiores del congelador con las manos

mojadas.
Evite que los nios se cuelguen de las puertas y/o jueguen cerca
del refrigerador cuando tenga la puerta abierta, ya que pueden
lastimarse, golpearse o quedar atrapados.
cuando necesite cambiar el foco, desconecte el refrigerador para
evitar una descarga elctrica. Asegrese que el foco tenga las
mismas caractersticas, tamao y potencia (Watts).

Pliza de garanta
Se garantiza dependiendo el modelo y pas (ver tabla anexa) a partir de la fecha de compra, contra
cualquier defecto atribuible a la calidad de sus materiales o mano de obra durante su fabricacin, bajo
las siguientes condiciones:
1) Para hacer efectiva esta garanta, deber recurrir a cualquiera de nuestros Centros de Servicio
SERVIPLUS, llamando a los telfonos que se indican en el directorio que forma parte de esta garanta y
donde podr obtener las partes, refacciones, consumibles y accesorios.
2) Mabe Mxico, S de R.l. de C.V. se compromete a reparar o remplazar cualquier parte del producto
encontrada con falla, en el domicilio del cliente y sin ningn cargo para el consumidor por concepto de
mano de obra, refacciones y gastos de transportacin del producto que pudieran generarse. Los tcnicos
SERVIPLUS estn capacitados y cuentan con las herramientas necesarias para hacer las reparaciones a
domicilio, asegurndose de que el producto funcione correctamente. Mabe garantiza la disponibilidad
de repuestos e insumos en el mercado por un tiempo de 10 aos. (solo aplica para Colombia).
3) Cuando nuestro tcnico de Serviplus asista a revisar el producto, se deber presentar el producto con
la pliza de garanta debidamente sellada por la casa comercial donde se adquiri, o la factura, nota o
comprobante de compra.
4) El tiempo de reparacin no exceder de 30 das, contados a partir de la recepcin de la llamada en
nuestros centros de Servicio SERVIPLUS.
5) El foco no entra en la garanta.
6) La garanta no podr hacerse efectiva en los siguientes casos:
Si el producto ha sido usado en condiciones distintas de las normales.
Si no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso proporcionado en idioma espaol.
Si el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personas y/o talleres de servicio no autorizados.
7) Limitaciones de la garanta. Esta garanta no ser vlida:
Si no presenta la pliza de garanta debidamente sellada, factura, nota, o algn otro
documento que acredite la fecha de compra del producto.
Si el producto se encuentra fuera del perodo de garanta otorgado por el fabricante.
Si ha sido utilizado con fines comerciales, de prestacin de servicios o cualquier otro propsito
que no sea estrictamente domstico.
Daos en pintura y partes de apariencia, cuando el producto est expuesto a la intemperie.
Rotura de piezas por mal manejo.
Daos causados por fluctuaciones de voltaje provocadas por corto circuito, sobrecargas
accidentales en la lnea de alimentacin o sobrecargas por causa de descargas elctricas.
Dao por uso de partes que no sean genuinas.
Daos en el producto causado en su transportacin, cuando sea por cuenta del comprador.
8) Mabe garantiza el suministro de repuestos y/o refacciones por el tiempo que estipula la ley.

Before connecting your refrigerator

general instructions
Remove the bases, packaging and accessories. Remove the adhesive tape residue with a cloth soaked in water and neutral soap.
Choose the location of the refrigerator. This area should be kept
clean and dry to avoid rust.
placement
Allow the following minimum space to ensure adequate air
circulation, especially if the appliance is going to be fixed to the
wall: 5 cm on each side, 10 cm at the back and 5 to 10 cm on
top.
Do not install the refrigerator near heat sources like stoves, radiators,
or in direct sunlight, as this will cause it to overwork and be less
efficient, thereby increasing its consumption of electrical energy.
Do not lean it against a wall. By complying with this , you will be
ensured of the correct positioning of the product, preventing your
Refrigerator components from directly coming into contact with
walls or furniture, thereby avoiding disagreeable noise.
leveling
Use the two leveling screws to level the refrigerator.
Insert and adjust them so that they rest firmly on the floor.
The front of the refrigerator should rest a little higher than the
rear which should lean slightly backwards, thereby facilitating the
automatic closing of the doors and preventing temperature loss.
The grille is located inside your refrigerator. Please follow these
steps to assemble it:
1) Line up the grilles clips in a straight line against the holes in the
lower part of your refrigerator.

until the back of the grille reaches the refrigerator.

Before inserting the plug into the AC outlet, clean the interior of
your refrigerator using a cloth or soft sponge and mild soap, or a
solution of bicarbonate of soda and water.
For an effective installation, the following should be taken into
account:
minimum requirements of the electrical installation:

Characteristics: 115 V - 60 Hz for residential use. Ideally equipped

with a main switch and separate balanced circuits, protected by
fuses and/or circuit breaker of 15 to 20 amperes Max.
1) Your refrigerator comes equipped with an AC power cord,
a polarized Y-type cable or integrated grounding. Under no
circumstances must the grounding be removed to connect an
adapter plug, nor cut the grounding and/or replaced by a 2
- prong plug.
For your safety when installing the refrigerator, refer to figure A.
2) If your electrical installation is not equipped with this kind of AC
outlet, obtain one, and have it installed by a qualified electrician.

Any personal accidents and/or material damage caused by

the product resulting from failure to do this will be the full
responsability of the client. Read the instructions printed in red
ink on the label attached to the power cable.
3) Connect your refrigerator to the closest AC outlet. Avoid using
extension cords and/or joining cables that are unsuitable for the
running of your refrigerator. If for any reason you need to use an
extension cord, consult a qualified electrician so that he can advice
you on the type of cord that can be used for maximum safety.

4) Do not connect another electrical appliances to the refrigerator

AC outlet while the aforementioned is in use. By doing this you will
avoid power surges and the overheating of your refrigerator.
Never connect another electrical appliances into the same plug that
you are using for your refrigerator.
5) To connect and disconnect your refrigerator, grip the plug firmly,
and pull straight from the AC outlet. Never pull the electrical
cord.

If you live in an area where are power surges, exercise the following
precautions:
Do not connect your refrigerator to the AC outlet.
Install an automatic voltage regulator with a minimum force of
1000 Watts.
Make sure that the regulator can withstand the power changes
that occur in your area.
Ask a qualified electrician to inspect the wall outlet and the
electrical circuit, to ensure that the circuits is properly grounded.
To ground the circuit, follow the grounding regulations and call
a qualified electrician.
If the AC power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
an electrician from an Authorized Center, in order to avoid
any risk of accident.
heating of areas near to the freezer
Your freezer comes equipped with a device that prevents
condensation. The heating of some external zones of your
refrigerator is normal. This prevents condensation of the drops of
water on the exterior of your refrigerator. However, in conditions
where there is high atmospheric temperature and humidity, a light
film of condensation could form. Dry this with a soft cloth.
first connection
Once your refrigerator is in place, wait 4 to 6 hours before
connecting it so that the gas and the compressor oil settle.
Before connecting the refrigerator, turn the refrigerator
temperature control or adjust the temperature level of the display
to mid-position (between 4 and 6).
Connect the plug to the wall AC outlet.
Allow it to operate empty and with the doors closed for 4 hours
before loading with food.
Avoid opening the door so that it can reach the desired
temperature.
If you want to place your refrigerator in another location,
disconnect it before moving.
Once it is in its new location, repeat the before mentioned
steps.

Functioning
Cooler temperature control.
The freezer control with the maximum, medium and minimum
levels allows you to adjust the flow of cold air internally.
And the cooling system control allows you to adjust the temperature
of the air from 1 (less cold) to 9 (colder).

Temperature control
To obtain the desired degree of refrigeration, it is necessary to
seek the best combination of the freezer compartment and the
refrigerator temperatures. Follow the instructions below:

1) Begin using your product keeping the original factory positions

(both controls in the medium position). Let the refrigerator run
for 6 hours for the temperature to stabilize. After this time, if you
need to change the temperature readjust the controls.
2) The temperature control has setting going from 1 (less cold) to
9 (colder). If necessary, adjust that control and observe the food
for a few hours. If you need to, you can make further adjustments
until you obtain the desired level of refrigeration.
3) The freezer control has maximum, medium and minimum
settings. This refers to the amount of cold air that will be sent
into the freezer compartment.
Notes:
1) At room temperature the amount the doors are opened will have
an effect on your products performance, therefore, the higher
the room temperature and the greater number of times the doors
are opened, the higher you will have to set the cooling systems
temperature setting
2) Food should not be placed against the air flow vents because of
the cold air coming from the cooling system, to allow adequate
air circulation and to prevent certain foods from freezing.
The interior temperature varies depending on the room temperature.
During hot months, turn the temperature control up and in the
cold months turn it down.

1) Vita nova is the new technology of cooling that counts on

multiple air flow vents of surrounding cold that allows your food
to maintain their flavor, their freshness and quality for more time
without concerning the place where they are, because it cools in
a uniform way to give the temperature adapted to each one of
them.
It is not necessary to defrost your refrigerator as it defrosts
automatically (No Frost).

Your refrigerator come equipped with various types of drawers,
depending on the model.
2) Depending on the model, your refrigerator may be fitted with
our gourmet snack pan.
This snack pan may be placed under any shelf, we recommend it
should be used in the first three positions. Your gourmet snack pan
is designed for storing cheese, cold cuts, saussages and pizzas.
3) The individual vegetable drawers is designed to preserve fresh
fruits and vegetables.

The correct usage of the humidity control ensures the adequate
flow of air into the interior of the drawer.
It is recommended to use the humidity control closed to preserve

Some models shelves tempered glass shelves with plastic frames.
Other models have wire shelves. Both kinds of shelves are
multipositional. The maximum recommended load for the shelf is
25 kg ( 55 lb).
If it is necessary to remove the glass shelves:
1.- Remove all foods and objects placed on them.
2.- Place both hands on the front part of the shelf, as demonstrated
in the picture.
3.- With your fingertips gently pull the shelf towards you.
4.- Once the rear section of the shelf is lifted, pull it towards you,
taking care to grasp it firmly.
5.- To replace the shelf on the desired support, make sure that the
support is between the shelf edge and the surface, as shown in the
picture, and push until you feel the catch of the shelf joint.
6.- To change the position of other shelves, proceed in the same
manner.

Depending on its model, your refrigerator comes equipped with a
double depth door (which is the largest on the market), and some
of the following shelves (depending on the model):

1. door compartment bins

Your refrigerator may come equipped with a door compartment
bin, which gives you the option of conveniently storing foods like
butter, cans and small jars; it is not recommended to store cheeses
and meats in this area.
To put the rear shelves into place: gently raise the safety catch on
the door compartment bin so that the catch can turn easily; make
sure to return it to its original position and check that it is secure.
The maximum load recommended is 2 kg (4 lb). Do not allow
children to hang on the bin as it will break if overloaded.
2. Bottle bin
A bin with a large storage capacity and great versatility on the
inside of the door. Suitable for storing large recipients and 4 liter
bottles (Gallon).
3. shelf inclined for bottles and Cans
A bin which provides adequate space for the storage of cans on the
front part; the rear part is for storing tall bottles. Additionally, it is
designed ergonometrically so that products can be easily reached.

4. two-depth bin
A bin suitable for storing small containers like drinking yogurt,
juice, small tetrapak cartoons, nail varnish, etc. it is ideal for storing
small jars which can be knocked over on other shelves.

super luxury models

The super luxury models with exterior control are equipped with
the following functions:
1. vacation function
This function will allow you to save energy when you go on a
vacation (no longer than 15 days).
If your vacation will last more than 15 days, unplugged, clean and
leave the doors of your refrigerator open in order to ventilate.
The vacation function activates directly by pressing the button, it
deactivates if you press again the button or when you open the
door for more than 10 seconds,
You will notice that the function its activated because in the
screen it will start the vacation animation, and it wont stop until
deactivated.
Note:
When you activate the function, the cooler door should be closed.
If the turbo function its activated, you cant activate the vacation
function and vice versa, these functions are opposed.
2. turbo function
This function accelerates the cooling process and so it increases the
freezing speed.
The turbo function activates directly pressing the button, it
deactivates by pressing the button again or after accomplishing
the optimal cycle.
You will notice when the function is activated since the turbo
animation will be in motion until you deactivate the function or
automatically 1 hour after being activated.
Note: If the turbo function its activated, you cant activate the
vacation function and vice versa, this functions are opposed.
3.alarm function
This function warns you with an animation and sound when
the door remains open for more than one minute (making the
refrigerator less efficient and consuming more energy).
The alarm function activates or deactivates pressing the button.
You will notice that the function is activated since the alarm
animation will start and also you will hear an alarm sound, these
wont stop until you deactivate the function or when you close the
door.

4. lock function
This function will block your LCD control preventing from some one
to change your programation.
To activate or deactivate, press simultaneously for 3 seconds the
alarm and vacation buttons.
You will notice that the function is activated since the padlock
animation will be started and it will continue until the function is
deactivated, this means all functions are blocked.
If you press any button, an animation will start and you will hear a
sound indicating that the Buttons are blocked.
5. temperature level
This function let you choose the cold level for your refrigerator from
1 (less cold) to 9 (coldest). Each time you press the level button,
the next subsequent number will appear when it reaches 9 it wil
start all over from 1. If you keep pushed the level button, the
subsequent numbers will continue appearing untill you left the
button. At the same time an animation will show up in the screen.
Note:
For the activation of the functions you dont need to press hard the
buttons. All functions take half second to activate.
When you plug the refrigerator, all function images should turn on
for 3 seconds y and you will hear a sound at the same time.
After those 3 seconds the screen will be turned off and it will be
positioned on cold level 5 in which ti shows the digit in case of being
the first connection, if not it will return to the last level selected.

easy ice

Some models have a device designed to make perfect ice, the Easy
Ice. This is located in the freezer door, leaving you more space inside
for your frozen foods.
note: When you use the Easy Ice it is very important that the freezer
shelves are in place.
How to use your Easy Ice.

1. remove
1. To obtain the ice, pull the drawer towards you.
2. To refill the molds, remove the cassette sliding it out carefully.

3. Once the cassette is out of the freezer, turn the cassette
counterclockwise until is horizontal on a flat surface before filling
it.
4. The molds have a water level control. If you overfill them the
water will spill out.
5. With the knobs facing you, turn the cassette clockwise, the molds
will then be in a horizontal position.
6. Finally, put the cassette back into the Ice Factory. Move it on its
rails as far as it will go. And wait for the ice to be made. Be sure
to dry all excess of water from the bottom of the cassette before
putting it in freezer.

7. Turn or twist each knob in the clockwise direction until the ice
cubes fall into the drawer below. The drawer can only store the
ice from the three molds.

Make sure the ice drawer is empty before unmolding the next
bath of ice.
Clean the surface under the drawer at least once a week.

Caring for your refrigerator

We recommend storing food in containers with lids, wrapped in or
stored in air light materials such as aluminum foil, plastic containers or
plastic wrap.
Do not store hot foods in the fresh food compartment or freezer. You
should wait until they have cooled down to room temperature.
Only open the doors for the time necessary to store or remove food
items or drinks. By doing this you will reduce energy consumption and
improve the performance of your refrigerator.
It may be difficult to open the door again after having opened and
closed it to introduce or remove foods. This is normal due to the vacuum
that forms in the interior of the refrigerator caused by the exchange of
air at different temperatures. If this happens, wait 10 to 15 seconds
before trying again and the doors should open easily.
Always store onions in a plastic bag or a hermetically-sealed container
to prevent their odor from penetrating other foods.
Do not store garlic inside your refrigerator as a cold, dark environment
promotes its germination. Store foods in small quantities in the freezer
as this facilitates quicker and more effective freezing.
We recommend placing food that you would like to freeze rapidly or ice
cubes on the freezer shelf.
Always take note of the manufactures expiring date on frozen
products.
Once food has been defrosted, it cannot be frozen.
Liquids increase in volume when frozen. For this reason, do not fill
recipients up to the brim with liquids.
Do not store closed glass recipients containing liquids in the freezer.

Cleaning your refrigerator

Always disconnect the refrigerator plug from the outlet before
cleaning or starting a technical revision.
1) Never use toxic products (ammonia, etc), abrasive products
(pastes) or fibers as they can damage the refrigerator.

Use a soft sponge or a cloth, which has been soaked in water and
a mild soap. Rinse and dry with a clean, dry cloth. You can also use
a solution of one spoon of bicarbonate of soda and two litters of
warm water to clean the interior.
Do not use fibers or sharp or pointed objects which can scratch
your refrigerator or the interior shelves.
2) To clean the condenser ( on the models which have them), use
a brush, cloth or sponge to eliminate accumulated dust. Do this at
least every six months..

During the cleaning, do not let accumulated liquid filter into the
interior or the refrigerator as this could damage the unit. Dry well.

Cleaning easy ice
For the easy cleaning of your Easy Ice, we recommend you
disassemble it as follows:

1. Remove the shelves from the door, the ice drawer and the
cassette.

2. In the freezer from the door, slide the Easy Ice sideways to the left
as far as possible.
3. Remove the upper part of the Easy Ice from its mount, holding
the sides in both hands and pulling it towards you away from the
door.

4. To disassemble the cassettes components you must push the pin

C outwards to free it from the cassette. The knobs will come off on
their own. Repeat these steps with the three ice molds.
5. Wash the parts of the Easy Ice using just a soft sponge with water
and a mild soap and then dry it.
It is important not to use scouring pads or abrasive products to
wash it (especially the ice molds).
To assemble:
Note: the cover of the Easy Ice may become detached during
cleaning. To put it back, the lower guides of the cover must enter
the holes in the base of the mount, then you should line up the
lateral guide of the cover with the side of the mount and press
the cover onto the mount until you can hear it has fitted on. The
cassette should not be inserted until the cover is in place.
1.To assemble the cassette put pin A into hole O making sure pin B
enters slot R. Push the ice mold until pin C is fixed in position. Put
on the knob making sure it is firmly fixed to the ice mold. Repeat
these steps with the three ice molds.
2.Take the Easy Ice to the door of your freezer. Put the lower guide
of the mount into the extreme left side of the rear slot of the
freezer door.
3.Push the upper part of the Easy Ice until the mount enters into
the back of the door.
4.Slide the Easy Ice to the right leaving it in its original position.
5.Put the shelves, the cassete and the ice drawer back in place.

trips and absences
On prolonged absences, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet.
Leave your refrigerator empty and clean. This includes the ice
trays.
leave the door ajar, placing an object behind it to prevent it from
closing. This facilitates air circulation and stops bad odors from
forming.
For short periods of absence, your refrigerator can stay connected.
But be aware that there is always the possibility of power cuts while
you are away.

If you need to place the refrigerator in a horizontal position in order
to transport it, place it only on its left side (when viewing your
refrigerator from the front).
Before changing your refrigerators location, screw the leveling
screws in as far as they will go.
problems with electrical supply
The majority of power cuts are corrected in hours.
The interior temperature of your refrigerator will not be affected for
4 hours. If the electrical failure persists for more than 6 hours we
suggest that you introduce ice bags in both compartments to help
to preserve foods.
If your model is equipped with the function trip and Turbo, in the
case of a power cut these will return to their state of non activation
(functions indicator will be switched off). Your refrigerator will not
be affected in any way on the resumption of power.

normal operating sounds

Some sounds are normal when your refrigerator is operating.
following is a table describing the different sounds that are
characteristic of its functioning:
crunching
Crunching is heard when ice breaks. This is the same noise that is
heard when ice trays are removed from the freezer and exposed to
room temperature.
compressor
This is a normal sound caused by the running of the motor.
It means the compressor is functioning.
gas expansion
Characteristic of the expansion of gas in the refrigeration system. It
is similar to the noise heard when filling a gas cylinder.
defrosting
This sounds like running water. This occurs when the refrigerator is
going through the defrosting process.
bubbling water
This occurs in the defrosting cycle and stops heat from entering
the unit.
Light Bulb Change
Some models are fitted with light in the refrigerator and the freezer,
others only have light in the refrigerator. To replace the bulb, follow
the instructions below:
1. Disconnect your refrigerator.
2. If necessary, remove the shelves and the snack pan.
3. Remove the temperature button the shelves and the snack pan.
4. Using your thumbs, pull the bulb cover towards you from the
bottom and then slide it downwards.

5) Remove the bulb twisting it in the counterclockwise direction.

6) Replace the bulb with another of the same characteristics and
dimension as the previous one.
7) Place the bulb cover at the top, slide it down and then push the
bottom part until it is firmly in place.
8) Replace the temperature control (only for the models with
interior controls), the shelves and the meat drawer.
9) Connect the refrigerator.
10) To change the light in the freezer, slide it sideways towards the
back of the freezer and then pull it towards you. To put it back
in place follow these instructions in the reverse order.
11) For models with the light on the top of the fresh food compartment,
remove the bulb cover from the far side, push towards you and take
out to the front and downwards. Replace the bulb. And follow
these instructions in the reverse order.

This warranty covers according to the model and country (see table below) as of the purchase date,
aganist any defect attributable to the materials quality or labor during manufacturing, under the
following conditions:
1) For this warranty to be effective, the consumer must apply to any of our SERVIPLUS Service Centers by
calling the telephone numbers indicated in the directory which constitute part of this warranty and where
parts, spare parts, consumables and accessories can be obtained.
2) Mabe Mxico, S de R.L de C.V. undertakes to repair or replace any part of the product found to be
defective at the home of the client and at no charge to the customer for labor, spare parts or transportation
of the product. The SERVIPLUS technicians are trained and habe the necessary tools for carrying out the
repairs at home, ensuring the correct functioning of the product. Guarantees the availability of spare
parts and supplies on the market, for 10 years. (only applies to Colombia).
3) When our technician from Serviplus arrives to examine the product, the product together with the
warranty policy duly stamped by the sales outlet from where it was bought, or an invoice, sales receipt or
other proof of purchase should be presented.
4) The repair time shall no exceed 30 days, starting from the receipt of the telephone call at our SERVIPLUS
Service Center.
5) The light has no warranty.
6) The warranty will not be valid in the following cases:
If the duly signed warranty, an invoice, sales receipt or any other document that proves the date of
purchase of the product is not presented.
If the warranty has expired and is not within the warranty perio authorized by the manufacturer.
If the product has been used for commercial purposes, professional services or any other use that is
not wholly domestic.
If the product has been outside of normal conditions.
If the product has not been operated in accordance with this Englisch instruction manual.
If the product has been modified or repaired by unauthorized technicians or service centers.
Damages to the paint work and parts constituting its appearance when the product has been exposed
