Elena Pribytkova
Elena Pribytkova is a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow at the European University Institute, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Minerva Center for Human Rights at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Habilitation candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Basel. She received a Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.) degree from Columbia Law School and a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree from the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Her main areas of expertise are human rights law, public international law, transnational law, legal and political philosophy, global governance, sustainable development, comparative law, and comparative history of legal and political ideas. She has worked extensively on individual and collective multidisciplinary research projects on theories of justice, human dignity, law and morality, governance, and human rights, in particular, socio-economic rights and their role in reducing poverty and inequality as well as in promoting social and global justice, and sustainable development. Elena held various research and teaching appointments at New York University School of Law, University of Basel, Radboud University Nijmegen, Ruhr-University Bochum, the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow University for Industry and Finance “Synergy”, and Columbia Law School. She was also a visiting fellow at Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, Heidelberg University, and the University of Oxford. She has more than fifty publications in English, German, French, and Russian.
