Nel 1928, Pierre Savoye, un broker assicurativo socio del gruppo Gras-Savoye, commissionò a Charles-Edouard Jeanneret, meglio noto come Le Corbusier e al cugino e socio di lui, Pierre Jeanneret, il progetto di una residenza dove trascorrere i fine settimana con la famiglia. La costruzione ebbe inizio nel febbraio del 1929 e l'abitazione venne conclusa nel 1931. Nell'estate del 1989 Francis Fukuyama scrisse il suo saggio più famoso "La fine della storia". Pubblicato sulla rivista statunitense «The National Interest» e su quella francese «Commentaire», il testo esplorava nuovi termini e possibilità per descrivere l'apice delle «sviluppo moderno», indicando, più che la reale-provocatoria-conclusione della Storia, lo scopo o l'obiettivo della Storia stessa. Egli pose con il suo scritto la questione del proseguimento al punto terminale dello sviluppo umano o meglio del processo di modernizzazione, che sembrava giunta al suo picco più elevato, alla sua fine, con la "vittoria" delle moderne Democrazie.(*) Probabilmente vi starete chiedendo il perchè questi due avvenimenti siano qui collegati. Semplicemente perché Ville Savoye è uno dei simboli universalmente riconosciuti del Modernismo che se per l'Architettura vede l'ideale cessazione il 15 luglio 1972 con l'abbattimento a Saint Louis, Missouri, del complesso Pruitt-Igoe progettato da Minoru Yamasaki, per il resto del mondo, almeno stando a Fukuyama, sarebbe cessato con la Glasnost di Michail Gorbaciov e la caduta del muro di Berlino. Appunto nel 1989. Ora, sono passati 48 anni dal Pruitt-Igoe e 31 dalla caduta del muro, ed è lampante che la storia non è finita. Come Fukuyama precisa infatti, è probabile che nel 1989 sia solo ricominciata. Ma se la storia è ricominciata, potrebbe essere, quindi, che pure il Modernismo non sia cessato in quel 1972 , forse aveva solo cambiato pelle, e stia ricominciando senza rispetto per il "Post-Modernismo" di Charles Jencks, della "Tendenza" di Tafuri e Rossi, del "Decostruttivismo" del primo Liebeskind, Eisenman, Hadid e di tutti quegli "ismi" che si sono succeduti da quel 15 luglio. Una pensiero affiorato durante la "garanzia" domestica dovuta al Lockdown da Coronavirus, o Covid-19 che dir si voglia. Ma perchè è affiorato? In giorni in cui alcuni architetti, con il tempismo visionario che spesso contraddistingue la categoria contemporanea nell'arrivare sempre in ritardo e ogni tanto sembrare un pò approfittatrice, stanno ipotizzando sistemi di C.U.R.A o semplicemente un D.O.P.O (**) ho assistito all'affiorare di altri pensieri.
