PERFORMANCE This topic was somehow inspired by the fact that some organizations do not seem to care about improving the skills or the capacity of their employees to do a certain job, instead, they frown when a particular competency or expectation is not met. Companies must realize that Training and Development is a necessity particularly for the unskilled or the less experience employees. Cheng and Ho (2001) also discuss the importance of training and its impact on job performance: "While employee performance is one of the crucial measures emphasized by the top management, employees are more concerned about their own productivity and are increasingly aware of the accelerated obsolescence of knowledge and skills in their turbulent environment. As the literature suggests, by effectively training and developing employees, they will become more aligned for career growth-career potential enhances personal motivation" (p. 22). Generally, employee's work contribution would greatly improved if proper training methods and tools will be used by the company, thus, improving employee performance and job efficiency. Several companies however, will choose to view Training as a cost rather than an investment resulting to addressing Training needs in an impromptu and unsystematic way. Different companies however, begin distiguishing their training needs, conduct knowledge audits, using all the tools to identify if Training done was effective.
