I put forth this revision as a starting point to rethink the ways in which these revolts are theorized and interpreted, and to recognize the central role that the impact of regional mobilizations holds globally. I start from the bibliography on rebellions between 1970 and 1990, to later highlight more recent literature. This recent literature has been marked by the agenda established in the previous stage, and further denoted by new questions around the nature of the political sphere, and the links between the material and the cultural ones, as well as the subaltern agency.
