Paul Creston, né le à New York et mort le à Poway dans la banlieue de San Diego (Californie), est un compositeur américain.
Biographie
[modifier | modifier le code]Il étudie le piano puis l'orgue mais reste autodidacte dans le domaine de la composition. Son œuvre est proche de celles de Roger Sessions et de William Schuman, non descriptive et à l'élément rythmique prépondérant[1]. Creston est aussi un enseignant reconnu qui a formé, entre autres, John Corigliano.
