Given the alarming rates of climate change, loss of biodiversity, and depletion of resources, environmental conservation has emerged as one of the most serious social challenges of our day. The state of our planet is deteriorating, and it is becoming increasingly clear that this has a profound influence on human society. In order to effectively address these problems, we need to take innovative measures. The perspective of ecological economics, which is a branch of economics based on the incorporation of ecological principles into economic theory and policy, will be the primary point of emphasis in this case study. According to Costanza, Cumberland, Daly, Goodland, and Norgaard (1997), ecological economics places a strong emphasis on the connection of natural ecosystems and human economies. In line with the idea of transformational social science, this viewpoint provides a fresh angle from which environmental issues can be viewed, allowing for improved comprehension as well as new approaches to their solution. The field of ecological economics has the potential to completely transform the way in which we approach environmental protection (Folke, 2006; Martinez-Alier, 2002). This is because it recognizes the fundamental significance of sustainability, the provision of ecosystem services, and the steady-state economy. In this case study, we will delve into the various ways ecological economics has been utilized to address environmental challenges, evaluate its effectiveness, and critically consider its future prospects, all in the pursuit of a relationship between humans and the environment that is more sustainable and harmonious.

Many people in the world come from indigenous communities globally. Some have come up to be leaders and even captains of the industry despite their ancestral lineages. In my paper, I will focus on the Ogiek people from Kenya, East Africa. The Ogiek people belong to the Southern Nilotic ethnic group, located in the Mau forest and the Mount Elgon forest. The 2019 census was carried out to determine the number of Ogiek people to stand at 52,956. Still, it was also determined that people who can actively speak the Akiek language are estimated to be at least 500 people.

This research work examined police brutality and human rights violations: A study of the end SARS protest in Nigeria. The issue of police brutality and human rights abuse is an issue of global concern especially as it affects its operation within the shores of Africa, particularly in Nigeria. The way policemen treat members of the public on the highways and in custody are very alarming and disheartening because it is anti-human right preservation in nature. Members of the public are treated like animals and dehumanize by subjecting them to cruel treatment especially in a bid to extract confession from suspected criminals. The study is limited to police brutality and human rights violation, a study of the END SARS protest in Nigeria. The study made use of qualitative research method and this was based on case studies generated from the interviews conducted by Amnesty International across states in Nigeria on issues of police brutality and human rights abuse. The following recommendations are put forward for this study; there is the urgent need to improve the training of the police in terms of human rights observance. The teaching of human rights education should be made compulsory at all levels of education in the country, most especially in Police Colleges and their academies. The police authorities must place emphasis on the teaching of human rights during their training of Constable Police recruits who are most often culpable of committing violations of rights.
