Allegory is a strange thing, and when looking at these two works one might not even notice that they share a common concept. Where "The Pilgrim's Progress" is a focus in spiritual allegory, "Gulliver's Travels" is political; these two appear to be separate in what they wish to convey, however this is not the case. Both works convey what the measure of a moral man of the time should be through the perspective of the authors.

Three Sonnets with similar themes are juxtaposed within this academic essay. Each is an allegorical representation in some aspect, and two of these sonnets share a title, while having been written six years apart. These sonnets were that of Sir Philip Sidney's "Astrophil and Stella", Charlotte Smith's "Sonnet 4: To the Moon" and Helen Maria William's "To the Moon".

Modernism was a movement in literature recognized to have started in the  nineteen-hundreds, however goes back to 1855. Walter (Walt) Whitman and several French Symoblist Poets were the first in a tentative start in this movement. It was not until 1914, the start of World War I that the movement gained enough momentum, though, to be truly recognized  as having an impact in literature.
Through research and through an intriguing interview I have been able to get a closer look at how cognitive disabilities can affect the dynamic within a classroom.
