This pull request addresses the following issues:

Fixes the HTTPError 404: Not Found by adding proper error handling for API responses in the check_following method.
Ensures proper JSON parsing of error responses.
Adds detailed logging for better error diagnosis and handling.

Changes:

Updated check_following method to handle and log 404 errors properly.
Improved error handling and logging for API responses.
