Support for loading XML drawable assets was added as an experiment in 0.76, shifted to a custom Fresco implementation in 0.77, and eventually moved into Fresco itself for 0.78. Over the many iterations of this feature, it has not yet been publicly documented but has been enabled by default starting in 0.78. The feature is ready to adopt and, pending the dissolution of a holdout group, the feature flag is about to be removed. Let's document it here!
