Hello! I'm Paulo Roberto Pereira Santiago, a professor and researcher at the University of São Paulo (USP) 🇧🇷. My passion lies at the intersection of Biomechanics and Computer Engineering.
-
Academic Background:
- Bachelor's in Physical Education from São Paulo State University (UNESP - Rio Claro).
- Bachelor's in Computer Engineering from the Virtual University of São Paulo (UNIVESP).
- Master's and Ph.D. in Motricity Sciences from São Paulo State University (UNESP).
-
Research and Teaching:
- Developing innovative technologies for sports performance analysis and rehabilitation.
- Applying machine learning techniques and data analysis to biomechanical data.
- Exploring the potential of emerging technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and wearable sensors for sports training and rehabilitation.
- Utilizing machine learning and data analysis to understand human movement and optimize athletic performance.
- Proficient with Linux systems, especially in scientific computing and data analysis.
Here are some of the projects I've been involved in:
- Project A: Software tool for analyzing running gait using motion capture data. Developed with Python, Matlab/GNU-Octave, and specialized biomechanics software.
- Project B: Machine learning-based approach to predict injury risk in professional athletes. Built with Python and various machine learning libraries.
- Project C: Motion capture for biomechanical analysis with Vicon, Qualisys, and OptiTrack. Markerless human movement analysis.
