The purpose of this study was to investigate the technological and pedagogical constructs underly... more The purpose of this study was to investigate the technological and pedagogical constructs underlying Turkish preservice teachers’ behavioral intentions to use interactive whiteboard based on UTAUT model and TPACK using three structural equation models; technological framework, pedagogical framework, and integrated model. Within this scope, preservice teachers’ behavioral intentions to use IWB was defined as the dependent variable. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, IWB self-efficacy, and technological knowledge were technological independent variables while individual innovativeness, technological pedagogical knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, and constructive and traditional teaching beliefs were pedagogical independent variables. Nine hypotheses were formulated based on the causal relationships between behavioral intentions to use IWB and independent variables. The proposed model was tested through SEM based on maximum likelihood estimation method using LISREL v.8.71 software. The significance of X2, the ratio of X2/df and other goodness of fit indices were used in the evaluation of the models’ fit. For hypothesis tests, path coefficients (β) and t values for each hypothesis were used. The findings showed that performance expectancy and technological pedagogical knowledge were the variables that significantly influenced the behavioral intention to use IWB in technological and pedagogical frameworks, respectively. Moreover, performance expectancy was the sole variable that significantly and positively influenced the preservice teachers’ behavioral intentions to use IWB in the integrated model. The main conclusion of this study was the revelation of teachers’ beliefs that IWB use would help them be better teachers by improving their performance independent from all other variables examined in the study.

Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin örtük program kavramına yönelik algılarını metaforlar aracılı... more Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmenlerin örtük program kavramına yönelik algılarını metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktır. Bu doğrultuda çeşitli il ve branşlarda görev yapan 52 öğretmen bu araştırmada katılımcı olarak yer almıştır. Çalışmanın verileri metaforik algılar formu ile toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Katılımcıların yaklaşık yarısı örtük programı, resmi programın tamamlayıcısı olarak görürken bir kısmı örtük programın kültürü aktarıcı rolüne, bir kısmı ise gizlilik boyutuna vurgu yapmıştır. Bir kısım katılımcı ise örtük programı kontrol edilemeyen bir unsur olarak ele almıştır. Bu doğrultuda gelecekteki araştırmalarda öğretmenlerin örtük programa yönelik algılarının görüşmeler aracılığıyla daha derinlemesine incelenmesi ve düşüncelerinin kapsamlı bir şekilde ortaya konması önerilmektedir.

On the other hand, some of the participants regarded hidden curriculum as an uncontrollable element. In this direction, the future studies are recommended to investigate the teachers' perceptions of hidden curriculum more deeply through interviews and reveal their thoughts in a wider perspective.

The use of social media, of which content is generated by the user, is on the increase that provide to access quickly to internet. The aim of this study was to reveal and examine preservice teachers' perceptions about the concept of social media. The participants were composed of 73 preservice teachers in a state university. Content analysis, which is one of the data analysis techniques in qualitative research, was conducted in this study. Personal Information Form and Metaphoric Perceptions about Social Media Form were used as the data collection tools. Participants came up with 43 different metaphors. " Friend " , " virus " , " cigarette " , " water " , " drug " , and " game " were among the metaphors produced by participants. This variation shows that the concept of social media can't be reduced to a single dimension.

This study was designed as a relational screening model. The participants were composed of 222 pre-service teachers studying at Gaziosmanpasa University. The data were collected using personal information form and the
profession of teaching attitude scale. In order to determine whether the attitude scores differ in terms of gender and their motives, independent-samples t-test was conducted. As for the grade and age variables, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis were run. The analyses concluded that participants’ attitudes towards teaching profession didn’t differ in terms of their grade. However, significant differences were determined in terms of gender and motives. Within this context, female participants and participants choosing teaching profession with internal motives had significantly higher attitudes towards teaching profession when compared to other participants.

natural learning environment. Accordingly, the opinions of nine high school students were
collected via a semi-structured interview form, which was developed by the researchers, and
content analysis was performed on the data. According to the results, the students learn most
by asking their friends and teachers on social network sites. They enhance their language skills
most within these media – mostly English. In terms of the courses, they use these media in order
to do their homework/projects and study for the exams.

study is carried out by the use of a singular model. Also, in terms of the field of curriculum
development, the component-oriented curriculum evaluation approach was used. 163
volunteer teachers took part in the research. The data were gathered by means of a
questionnaire developed by the researchers. In the analysis stage, teachers’ opinions related
to the items were given in percentages and frequencies, and they were interpreted. As a
result of the study, the necessity of the revision of the goals and aims, the inadequacy of the
familiarization of the curriculum to the teachers and the need of development of schools’
facilities were determined.
